Ours is misleading because here there is a lot of marriages on which they simply split without divorcing, because it's a chore and there's no stigma about it. Nearly all of my friends they parents are split yet they're still technically married.

High religiousity, strong social and economic disincentives to getting divorced. If you want lower divorce rates you need less permissive divorce laws and a slut shaming culture. People operate on incentives. Women in the west have no real incentives to stay married beyond a certain point besides their attachment to their husband and consideration for their family.
