countries do this all the time over pretty minor things that only a handful of people are responsible for. the pastor is just a convenient topic for a pride tug of war. I highly doubt turkey thinks he is of any danger to them if he is released and I highly doubt trump would care if the guy was held by a country more closely allied to us. The fact that endrogan cares more about his personal pride than his own countries well being is downright appalling.
