Nah it's more to do with schools not teaching history at all rather than nationalist propaganda. In highschool we focused on Nazi Germany, the cold war, and race relations in the USA. We briefly glazed over the English Civil War and WW1 and didn't even touch anything from 1700-1900. A lot of Brits are just ignorant and poorly educated when it comes to history, especially anything that touches the empire
