I love this country and think it’s the best nation ever.

It seems like Americans are needlessly complicated and different and willfully ignorant for the sake of being complicated and different and willfully ignorant because "muh freedom"
Like mentioned, the imperial system is fucking messy garbage. The metric system is so clean, and simple, and we're the only country in the world (to my knowledge) that doesn't use it.
There are countless examples of us being different from every other civilised white nation just for the hell of it.

All the times I've been it honestly was so fucking ridiculously similar to Canada in comparison to the travels I did in Europe or South America. I don't like the ridiculously high amount of fast food joints you have, I think it's disgusting. I don't like the money too, old folded paper bills that I just can't differentiate. Canada had them in plastic and of easy recognizable colore.

I like the people though, Americans are usually more open and friendly than Euros who tend to keep to themselves in front of strangers.

I hate the imperial system though. Im alwayd scared to be flagged by a cop on the highway due to the stupid mile system.

I also think that Upper state New York and Upper State Vermont are LatAm tier, there is a visible gap with beautiful southern Québec.

I don't think the country is shitty though, the education and healthcare system is shit and I believe you have a big violence problem but it is still one of the best in the world. The problem is the government, Americans are not evil but the American government is.

Europe has historically embraced far better music than America, and its not even close.

I don't know what I can write that hasn't already been said by countless others. My only experience was going to California and Texas when I was a child, though I will be visiting Hawaii this summer. I have fond memories of visiting, and have mostly had good interactions with the hundreds of Americans I've meet throughout my life.

America is an empire that considers itself anti imperial. It's a nation so diverse that it only strong civic values, and a near mythological founding myth keep its people United. Its success has been to put the protestant work ethic on steroids, and despite the ever increasing wealth gap and lack of worker rights that other developed countries enjoy, it still tells its people they are free.

Despite its faults, up until recently I think the US tried to do the right thing as a Superpower. We would be living in a horrible world had the Soviets won. America has helped Improve the living conditions of the nation's that fall into its alliance, and at least give lip service to human rights. It's a shame what the country seems to be descending into - alienating nearly every single one of its allies for the strangest of reasons.

Housing is cheap, wages are high, health insurance is discounted or free if you are a full time worker at a decent company. The problem comes when you make shit decisions like an unfortunately large amount of americans such as abusing credit cards, taking out loans for shit degrees, etc.

It's so big that you should really look at the states one by one, many are shitholes but others seem very comfy like all the ones bording Canada. I wouldn't mind living in Maine or Montana.
