>this semester's tuition: $6000
>textbooks: ~$500
>1-year university parking pass: $140
>gasoline to drive to campus: ~$20 per week
a-at least i don't have any student loan debt!
>this semester's tuition: $6000
>textbooks: ~$500
>1-year university parking pass: $140
>gasoline to drive to campus: ~$20 per week
a-at least i don't have any student loan debt!
>tfw get paid to study
this desu
>mfw 240€ / month for 3 years
parking pass for a year is 198$
I bought the cheapest one. The more expensive passes are almost $400.
Free :' )
I like being BR sometimes
same here but for the entire year without textbooks and parking and with 50€/week in gasoline
>tuition: $6000
Does this include a space to live?
Isn't there a lending library
Aren't many textbooks outdated with notes being more important if you want to pass the class?
doubt it. 6000 sounds like instate commuter. its probably another 60% of that, for dorm.
doubt it
No, I'm not living on campus.
Any study on how many talented young people the US are preventing from being educated because of that bullshit?
Don't be a communist. Poor people can't be talented.
>you owe no debt
then what's wrong with you?
Based
My parking pass is $400 a semester
>Paying for textbooks
>Using textbooks instead of books and academic articles
If you do well in high school, you get scholarships, so it's not really an issue.
I don't know how things work in Huezil but in America you don't get to choose your course materials. That's up to the professor.
>mfw don't have to pay a dime for college
t.
>Land of the free
you should make an updated one with you governner cucking out
You do realize that you have to pay half the sum back right?
He’s still getting pain in the end then dumb kraut
Here the uni library buys a bunch of them so people don't need to buy them.
what do you study?
are you going to make six figures after you graduate?
No, of you don't take any loans.
>buying textbooks
why not just get a pdf of them? havent bought a book for the last 2 years
>parents are paying all of this money so that i can share a room with a stranger
Like the other person said, if you do well in high school and actually apply for scholarships then you will get them. Minorities and people from low income families especially get scholarships just for them. Hell if you are poor and get into the top ivy league schools and probably MIT, Stanford, Caltech then you get it all paid for by scholarships
>this semester's tuition: free (scholarship)
>textbooks: ~$0 (PDFs)
>1-year university parking pass: $0 (dont drive)
>gasoline to drive to campus: ~$0 (only walk)
>Dorm room and administrative fees: $7500 for the school year
>Cooking my own food: $2000 for the school year
I only work in the summer, except for undergrad research during the school year, so I can buy food and fun shit for the year, otherwise I just use student loans to pay for the dorm and will only have like $20k in debt when I graduate, which should be about 5 months to pay off assuming I get a job in my field. I have two internships under my belt so Im not too worried. Also
>tfw no classes Monday, Wednesday, or Friday and earliest class Tuesday or Thursday is 11AM
haha, right? it should be, but it isn't!
that's capitalism for you.
t. desert warlord
You share a room or an apartment with a stranger?
a room
Americucks share a room, they pay over 10k a year to study and they won't even get a room for themselves.
I could never share a room with a stranger. Sharing room is a 3rd world thing
>tfw €820 per month for up to 7 years
I'm american and I got paid to go to college because my family was poor and I went to a public university.
>650€ / year for comfy long-distance studies with free course materials
Is it worth it lads?
>this semester's tuition: $0
>textbooks: $0 (none of them is mandatory), $10 of yearly uni library pass)
>public transportation for the whole city: 12$/mo
Sharing an apartment is bad enough in itself, sharing a room must be absolute horror
A lot of uni dorms in the US seem to be 2 people in one room, and the whole floor shares a bathroom/showering area and it seems like a shitty time for me. I just paid extra to get my own room, shower, and bath instead because fuck that shit
>tfw $ 394 dollars for community collage
A year? That sounds very reasonable
dont listen to these guys.
they didn't come from a poor background, I can tell because they dont understand the FEW scholarships that actually cover any real amount, come by poor areas and how competitive they are. However its not impossible just MUCH more difficult.
Also you can't quantify how many smart People didn't get accepted into something. But id imagine its a lot. Its discouraging trying to figure out how to pay for college a lot of the time. when money doesn't cone around often. I joined the army so luckily I had that benefit when I got out.
If you don't have a full ride, you have literally no reason to not attend community college besides having too much pride
semester of 3, class at the collage for poor people and shit students
whatever you say man, I grew up poor and got uni paid for so worked for me I guess. I still took out loans to cover my apartment but with my job after graduation I paid those off easily. You basically can just get normal scholarships and then special scholarships that are only given to poor people which is nice
This. Community college is like a fourth of the price of a 4 year uni and sometimes offer scholarships too, so if you dont get a good scholarship for a 4 yr school then you should go to CC for 2 years and transfer in. Probably save anywhere from $5k-$100k depending on the type of 4 yr uni you go to
lel what can you buy from this in Denmark?
t. 860 Euro for 5 years
mfw going to university increased my savings by 5k Euro while not working at all, travelling Europe, Morocco, Turkey and Thailand and spending a year in Finland albeit being a poorfag from eastern Germany
speaking of germany, are erasmus mundus + type masters a meme? You travel to 1 or 2 universities and can get a scholarship to pay for living expenses and everything, but not really sure if they are shit unis or a meme program or not t.b.h Have you heard of it?
>and got uni paid for so worked for me I guess.
That says nothing about the bigger scheme of things.. come on.
I heard about them, but it sounds like a meme.
Personally I would think someone who did this was a pretentious faggot and outside of some specific positions it probably won't give you any competitive edge when you apply for jobs.
There are no shit unis in Germany desu, but avoid "applied universities" in Finland. They are actually shit there while applied universities in Germany are fine.
>spending a year in Finland
I'm so sorry
>tfw get paid every month as long as I spend 35h/week to school.
>tfw no teachers, i just code and chose what projects i want to work on
>tfw no timetable either, school is open 24/7 so I come whenever i feel like it
>tfw time spent at school is just log time on my session, so I can browse Jow Forums all day and still get sweet neetbux
>tfw no time limit on how long i study so i can keep this up for several years
I'll reply to one of these 30k/year job offers one day, just not yet
it was a bad decision on my part but lots of activities for international students made it half as bad
>one of these 30k/year job offers
>building savings while studying
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
What do you mean? my parents were just making close to minimum wage and I walked to and from school and work so they could work. I just studied hard in high school so I could get out of that lifestyle. Some people have it worse though
Okay then maybe I wont even apply lol. I kind of wanted to just for the traveling part but would rather not have a meme degree and if anything just apply to one or two normal programs in euroland
30k/yr is pretty low user
>will only have like $20k in debt when I graduate
>bragging about this
Americans
where did you grow up. And why did you just call it uni.
Some of them go up to 60k/year (Junior) but I'm not ready for that yet. It's my first year after all.
Plus if i was in it for the money I would have worked my ass through two/three more years after my law degree but fuck being miserable
>tfw dad and government pay everything for me
30k/year for first year then it's more like 4k/month so you do the math. Also, see
That is pretty normal for US in general. I just took them out to splurge on dorm and technology shit because I can pay it off quickly anyways. Not really bragging because I could have just lived at home for free
>Put my fafsa in
>filled everything
>went to school because they havent covered shit in the last 2 months of waiting
>they tell me my social security aint filled even though i filled it at least a couple of times on the site.
>wtf
>luckily i have it in my wallet and give it to them
>tell me fafsa will cover it within 5 business days
>last day to pay is 4 days away...
>Never got covered
>had to pay the full $430 for 2 classes.
Aint too bad, but it wouldve went down to around $80.
Not sure whos fault it is here....
i grew up in north omaha, I think the poorest part of omaha? it was like half black students and a third white in the high school so i got called wh*tey sometimes. I dont think the school was all that bad though as they had a lot of AP classes compared to my cousins more rich school and most of the dangerous parts of the place were just gang shit or students busting up teachers cars. I just say uni because it is easier to type out than university or college when phoneposting and i studied abroad in the UK for a year and it rubbed off on me
ah gotcha. makes sense then. well maybe its different down there. Up in Baltimore its very much not that way.
