>been drinking protein everyday and lifting for 1 month
>still no change

such life of an ectomorph

I usually only get 3-4 plates (2kg) at the buffet, but only my stomach bulks up.

9 plate deadlift?

post arm

wtf, 9 plates is like 400lbs

No all the excersises with the plates involved

>one where you pull the bar down
>one for triceps and biceps where you pull a handle towards/away from you
>one where you push the handles upwards which
>few more I cant name

1 month isn't enough to notice big changes

Usually its ohp + bench + squat + deadlift and /1/2/3/4/ (on one side)

I've heard weighted squats are great but instructor doesn't let me do them

also whats /1/2/3/4/?

>/1/
One 20kg plate on each side overhead press
>/2/
Two 20kg plates on each side bench press
>/3/
Three 20kg plates on each side squat
>/4/
Four 20kg plates on each side deadlift

It's basically a benchmark to see how strong you are, getting /1/2/3/4/ generally mean you are strong.

>tfw only 6pl8 bench
should I just end it?

No, just keep going. If you are short(under 5'10) then you'll get pretty easy gains. For lanklets you need 2-3 years for that gym bod

Weak and pathetic. Just give up

>tfw could OHP 1 plate 5 times but could barely do 1 rep of 3pl8 deadlift and 2pl8 bench

Rate my gains

but we look better once we get it! that hard work and patience pays off.

not present, so keep going bro, you'll get there. best to look at progress pics.

and stop using machines. do compound multipoint. lifts. not that isolation stuff until you have a decent base IMO.

>non-existant
Gyms are a fucking scam, whole month gone to waste. I can lift more than the more musculer looking people yet have non-present gains? Its doesn't make sense

I think he means """"plates""""" as in the weights on something like pic related

why? Are these not good enough? Dont you dare look down on me

>tfw can OHP 185lb and bench 265 but can only deadlift and squat 225 because shit mobility
JUST

80lbs is jack shit

are you performing the excercise slowly (as you should) or fast paced?

no, just saying that most people that talk about plates mean the ones on a barbell like in pic related used for bench, deadlift, squat, OHP, rows, etc. Pic related would be called 5 plates because there are 5 of the 45 lbs (~20kg) plates on each side

N-NO! THAT'S NOT TRUE! I-I BET I CAN BEAT YOUR ASS!

Instructor say's Im not good enough for that yet

You gotta start doing free weights man

>he actually pays for an instructor

Attached: 1500164754740.png (650x650, 21K)

No he comes free with the gym member ship

well tell him you want to start working with free weights, better than doing just machines and it doesnt really matter how much weight you lift it is just about having the right form

Try synthol

dude, fuck an instructor. Multijoint compound lifts with light weight until you build the stabilization and then move up.
>not being ready for the most natural moves your body can do.
your instructor is just squeezing you for money with slow progress.

also, you can train for size or strength. They're inherent to each other to a certain degree, but not congruent. You can be one without the other so to speak. otherwise bodybuilders would be the strongest people.

ignore him.

40kg in total? Or 40x9kg? What the fug

>9 plates
>1 pl8 = 20 kg
>a pl8 usually refers to one side of the bar, so 1 pl8 = 40 kg
>I made it to 9 x 40kg = 360 kg + 20 kg bar = 380 kg
>380 kg and haven't bulked up

Did you consider becoming a professional time traveller? If you can have enough power to lift 380 kg and weight little you should be able to move at the speed of light
