How bad is it REALLY?

How bad is life in China? It can't be that bad, can it? Places like Beijing and Shanghai are just like the 1st world, right?
...Is it even possible to be happy while living in China?

>Is it even possible to be happy while living in China
chinese don't have emotions or feelings

>Pollution is so bad they literally have to shut down factories and transportation for days or weeks and censor how Air Quality indexes in order to look good.

>be me

>Places like Beijing and Shanghai are just like the 1st world, right?

No. Fuck. No.

lol no, China is a fucking shithole and its """people""" are a big part of the problem

Elaborate on that

If places like Taiwan and Hong Kong seem to be doing fine compared to China it can't be just the people. It's probably has more to do with the PRC having brainwashed all of China for over 50 years now.

HK and Taiwan are legitimately good places because they aren't mainland cancer.

Taiwan has Japanese influence.

Hong Kong and Singapore have British influence.

>2014

It gets worse when you head West. Also the industrial cities look like hell.

Hong Kong are not Han and were civilized by the Brits
Taiwan were civilized by Japan

>sign Paris Accord
>Set your own goals
>Increase your pollution

thehill.com/opinion/energy-environment/390741-chinas-rising-emissions-prove-trump-right-on-paris-agreement

It's getting worse and this is assuming they aren't fudging the data which they love to do.

Wait what are hong kong if not han?

japan civilized by themselves

co2 is not a polluant, you know. Only a greenhouse gas.

I just got back from a trip to China (Beijing, Hangzhou, Wuhan, and Shenzhen), it's pretty first world. The infrastructure everywhere is newer and better than in the US, pretty much. most places are very clean and modern in Beijing and most other cities.

The biggest pain is toilets, you have to bring your own toilet paper everywhere, there are a lot of squat toilets, and you usually throw the used paper in a trash can.

Also it's very fucking hot and they don't believe in air conditioning in a lot of places.

the buildings and sense of scale are immense though, you will be amazed by how huge shit is there. a lot of the architecture in beijing is very avant garde/modern as well, and cool looking

I'd probably know more if they didn't censor the media as much
anyway, looks pretty grim

Check your date and my date.

Additionally it is a fucking pollutant you brainlet. It's the byproduct of burning fossil fuels, which also creates other undesirable byproducts.

From Nat Geo
>Though living things emit carbon dioxide when they breathe, carbon dioxide is widely considered to be a pollutant when associated with cars, planes, power plants, and other human activities that involve the burning of fossil fuels such as gasoline and natural gas.

honestly every Chinese ive met while traveling says itll be cool to visit but that they're actually shitholes and would never recommend living there.

All the rich Chinese buy houses overseas and send their kids to study and live in foreign countries. Gee, I wonder why.

>CO2 is an asphyxiant gas and not classified as toxic or harmful in accordance with Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals standards of United Nations Economic Commission for Europe by using the OECD Guidelines for the Testing of Chemicals. In concentrations up to 1% (10,000 ppm),

Whether you like it or not, using co2 emission when the post was about air quality in a city is retarded.

Also here is an article from a few weeks later

Christ your a moron, CO2 is a pollutant, you keep moving the goalpost. Additionally can't have an increase in CO2 without an increase in other gases. I'm including a graphic to spoon-feed you. Some of the other byproducts are toxic and irritants.
