and talking about Confucianism, China will lose this trade war, because Confucianism prepares your bad for direct confrontation. what happened when the Confucian Japan fought directly against America, the USA only needed 3 years to win over Japan at the other side of the planet. Japan was more successful on winning over the USA when they were friends (post WWII) , because Confucianism teach you about indirect ways of winning.

Mainland Chinese simplification works in patterns a lot, like for example 言 → 讠, which means everywhere where you can see 言 as a character component, it gets replaced by 讠 thus 話 → 话; 語 → 语; 誰 → 谁
