Also nobody really cares whether your English is perfectly fluent or barely communicative, employers are content already if you can just get the message across and talk with other ESLs. Went to an mixed IT/economy uni with HS friend to another city. Hardly made any new friends because autist who doesn't share common topics with 99% people around, realised i didn't like the uni subjects near enough to put enough effort into it, smoked/sold weed and played vidya all year till i dropped out. Went to get a few worthless english degrees the following year as i was late to make the cutoff for applying to uni. Next year went to history uni, expected people to be like me and talk about history, turned out most of them were just normies and ones who didn't make it somewhere better, by the time i noticed few interesting people (girls) everyone was already grouped and i was too autistic to break into a formed friend circle. Broke towards the end of the year as the uni program is not that easy, especially with 0 chance of getting a job in profession once you finish it, dropped out after half more year once i just hated the uni to the bone.

Had a few manual jobs, didn't hold any of them for long. Couldn't find any non-terrible job with my nonexistant qualifications, went to few more IT courses meantime but i'd need to work a lot more to learn enough for a job (in here IT workers basically need to know everything in a wide area instead of branching out, at least that's what i was told). Depression due to no gf and job sapped out what little energy i had over last few years, feel like i don't have anything to live for anymore, have a single really good friend in USA and that's it. Any new friends i obtain i usually drop after few months/weeks. Family's decently well off but they can't support me indefinitely and it's very embarrassing they had to support me to this point in the first place. Tried to find a translating job in last few months, nobody took me up. Currently trying to work for some fraud international transcription company that pays peanuts.

There are a lot of similarities between us croat bro, I also hated my engineering degree and got shitty gpa and I managed to barely graduate with a 2.3 (out of 4) and it took me 6 years to do it, but I guess I always feel I have to finish something I started no matter how awful it feels.

And now after working for 2 years in this field I still hate the shit out of it and wish I could work in politics or journalism or history. I just want to write and self express you know? Anyway I would love to talk to you more do u have steM?
