I've been far too lazy and unproductive with my Chinese this summer. I had a meltdown because some Chinese guy was rude to me on WoW when I tried to speak Chinese to him. But I think I'm getting better now.
How are you learning Chinese? What resources are you using
>maybe if I close my eyes the tariffs will go away

Great resource. Courses are a bit expensive though. Good for if you have no idea where to start and just want to learn how to talk to people.
>I will hit them hard until they like China
You ever used italki? Considering paying for a tutor on there
Never used it since there's enough Chinese people around me where I live so I just talk to them sometimes. But it'd probably be a good idea to try out italki, wouldn't hurt.
Female Xi Jinping looks like a typical under-40 shengnu.

Jiping's forgotten the meaning of soft control, and how places like Hong Kong came to rejoin China in the first place.
Carrot and then stick is far more effective than stick, stick, stick, put a human rights lawyer in prison, and then finally carrot. There's a lot of interest in China, mainly to see what Xi will get autistic over next, whether it's pooh bears or rubber ducks.
the man needs to continue the economic reforms or else china's gonna hit stagnation (if it hasn't already)

Anddddddddd we are back.
>Hong Kong
>rejoined because of “soft control”
What? It would have been invaded if the British didn’t leave.
7% growth in China is stagnation. Meanwhile in the USA, 3% is booming “MAGA” best economy ever

Can you actually get access onto Jow Forums while you're traveling into china or did his government banned the website for good? Just wondering that's all.
On the way to China right now lads
Pretty sure you can still access Jow Forums, you just need to buy a Jow Forums pass in order to post (because of all of the Chinese spammers).
>China implements a social credit system
"What the FUCK, another example of how oppressive the Chinese government is. This is like 1984 in real life. I'm literally shaking right now #FreeTibet #TiananmenSquare"

"Yeah, I mean I guess that's bad and all but how else am I going to connect with my friends? haha"

you must be the only one in /sino/ actually learning the language, godspeed
Why is real life mimicking art?
I hope the PRC does ban this shitty site in China. That'll be pretty based.

>dao de jing
The path(Dao) that can be trodden is not the enduring and unchanging Dao. The name that can be named is not the enduring and unchanging name. (Conceived of as) having no name, it is the Originator of heaven and earth; (conceived of as) having a name, it is the Mother of all things.
Always without desire we must be found,
If its deep mystery we would sound;
But if desire always within us be,
Its outer fringe is all that we shall see.
Under these two aspects, it is really the same; but as development takes place, it receives the different names. Together we call them the Mystery. Where the Mystery is the deepest is the gate of all that is subtle and wonderful.
They are, but I think it's mostly because the PRC's government must've mistaken it as a political site instead.
I gotcha there, thank's!

And China couldn't care less what you Whitoid shits think about them.
Meanwhile many many western countries. depends on the money of Chinese tourists and the export to China.
I stopped putting effort into learning Mandarin.
I thought China would become the world's most influential economic superpower and that Mandarin would have a decent chance of becoming the next lingua fanca.
Now that I think about it, there is no way that will happen. It doesn't matter how big China gets on the world stage.
hehe
>>tfw even SJWs and the left are joining in on the China hate
No surprises here, behind this recent wave of anti-Chinese sentiment is what can only be described as pure kikery, so it's not unusual for the jews to pull the strings of their leftist puppets.
>I thought Mandarin had a decent chance to be the lingua franca
Lol nope
Notice how there were literally no other stories after that one. No one in the West cares about chinese muslims
Where would a shengnu be on this list?
It's what a lot of Harvard scholars that are a lot smarter than you thought too.
>a few harvard people said something so it must be consensus
6 park is also another similar site too actually.
she likes only white males.
They haven't, they just need a Jow Forums pass because Google is blocked and therefore the captcha doesn't work.
New to language learning.
I'd like to learn Shanghaiese which I believe is a dialect of Wu. But I'm not sure.
Basically I'm moving to Shanghai next year and would like to get a head start in terms of being understood. I know from a previous visit that English is pretty widespread but I'd really like to learn the language to help assimilate better.
Does anyone have any good resources that can help please? Preferably apps or videos. Similarly, if anyone has any good advice about picking up a Chinese dialect for a native English speaker then I would appreciate it.
>I'd like to learn Shanghaiese
Are you doing it because it sounds vaguely like Japanese or is it actually useful in modern day Shanghai?
Well I can't tell the difference between the dialects by ear obviously, but the Shanghai native I know has told that that is what she speaks.
Who are they?
