1. Your country
2. Who is your favorite Metal Gear protagonist?
1. Your country
Old Snake.
fuccboi raiden.
Naked Snake
I don't know how it wouldn't be Solid Snake or Gray Fox for most people. Big Boss is a goober.
Johnny Sasaki is fine, too.
>no psycho Chico
Fuck Kojima.
I never had a PS3 so I never got around to playing MGS4 ;_;
Raiden singlehandedly destroyed like 15 Metal Gear Rays at once. He's the most competent.
most incompetent
Why don't you buy a PS3? right now they are cheap as fuck and you can mod it. All the Metal Gears are on PS3.
I would have to buy the thing to play one (1) game. I'm not really interested in Uncharted and whatever other exclusives they have on PS3
I'm not sure if it's worth it
He's the only one that gets proper character growth.
The most Solid Snake has faced is daddy issues over his commander that was also his enemy, which haunt him the rest of his life. Big Boss wouldn't stop crying about muh boss. The Boss was a Mary sue.
I've never played Uncharted, PS3 has a lot of good exclusives.
Old Snake
>He's the only one that gets proper character growth.
Raiden? In MGS4?
Yes, actually Raiden is very likeable in 4. Too bad they fucked it up with Rising.
>start a thread about protagonists of a series
>hasn't played the main games of said series
Brainlet as fuck, typical MGS2 soyboy.
>they fucked it up with Rising.
I liked Rising though

Solid Snake from MGS 1
not big on old snake
also Liquid is the best villain in the whole series
The bearded bandana guy.
>Liquid is the best villain in the whole series
agreed
Raiden and Snake from mgs2.
They were much better written than in the other games.
Naked Snake was cool but not good enough
this is how I feel as well. MGS2 was the high point of the series in terms of story and character writing.
Naked Snake was like a lost puppy who was trying to find his trainer, The Boss.
Solid Snake
All of the snakes
In MGS2 really. He starts as a fucking kid who mishears the word Node for Nerd., By the end he's a man looking for a purpose for himself.
Most of the protagonists went by the codename "Snake"
Naked
Solid
[redacted because spoilers]
And even Raiden had the codename "Snake" in the beginning of the Big Shell chapter of MGS2
the whole thing about Raiden in MGS 2 is that he has no free will.
He never questions his superiors, always follows orders and does what he's told, no matter the situation.
well I only know him from MGS2 and Rising.
there are many ways to interpret what even happens in MGS2, especially the final parts. The tanker part apparently didn't even happen, it was a VR mission Raiden completed as part of his training. Iroquiois Plissken tells the tanker part story differently from what happened. Campbell telling the player to turn off the console seems like it's the only way to "truly" win the game, as the rest of it is just Raiden playing his part in the Patriots' plan.
Even Raiden's supposed gf seems like a fake. After the game is finished they "live happily ever after"
The subtext of it all is, it might all be fake. And it is since it's a fucking computer game.

raiden
the best
>does what he thinks is right
>doesn't afraid of anything
raiden a best
Yes i like them all
Yeah I heard that theory too.The flashbacks you see of the tanker chapter show snake shooting a FAMAS and running from water running in the hallways, were they from Raiden's memory were they the actual events?
There's also the theory that says that MGS3 was also a simulation similar to mgs2,when you die and if you wait a couple of seconds the GAME OVER text changes to TIME PARADOX and if the game was set on the present(in the plot) that wouldn't make sense.
I think the tanker chapter was most probably a VR mission. it just doesn't add up if it wasn't, since if I remember correctly, Ocelot wasn't really there.
it's also hinted at that the shadow moses incident might have been as well nothing but a part of Raiden's training, and as such a VR mission as well.
anyway, trying to find definite truths or a definite continuity in MGS is a fool's errand. there is none- the games are basically independent of each other and the story is up to interpretation
Every single game except for MGS1 were supposed ti be the last one so it's natural the writting was done in a way that the games were independent from each other.
MGR was an amazing game and better than anything after 3 IMO
I only played metal gear on NES
That's not even Metal Gear.
>better than anything after 3 IMO
that's not saying much
Big Boss/Venom snake
