A Greek from antioch in 491 is not a reliable source. And Suetonis was a gossip merchant and a biographer not a historian, and not only that he was a biographer who didn't organize his works chronologically, but by topic. He is the Roman equivalent of vogue magazine

Also his dismissal by Emperor Hadrian was in 119 whereas The Twelve Caesars was written in 121, meaning he didn't have access to the imperial archives at the time of writing/finishing his "book"

That the writings of Sueton were handed down until today is proof alone that the people deemed it at least somewhat trustworthy. As for his sources, many writers in antiquity simply copied their sources which made it superflous to continue handing down their sources and let to their disappearance.
Also imagine a book coming out about Napoleon today that describes the French emperor as black skinned and red haired, you probably won't believe the description and consider the book as not trustworthy even though you never saw a fotography of him or even personally met Napoleon Bonaparte.

He didn't have access to the Imperial Archives at the time of writing the 12 Caesars, The majority of his work was gossip related and not truthful at all, was writing over a century after events had happened. The only reason he is even spoken about is because his writings are more intact than other Roman authors. And Malalas can't even be argued to be a credible source, pic related.

The question is, why are they more intact than other Roman authors? Probably because there were more copies of it which maximized the chance surviving, which means he was widely read, so people at least thought his accounts to be trustworthy. Same goes for Melalas, I don't think that most things he wrote are credible but his contemporary readers thought his work was credible, but then again they also believed at the talking bush.
It's like how you can't argue with Johannes Keplers accounts on the orbits of the planets but still deem his calculation of the end of the world for the early 17th hundreds as unreliable.

You don't think that's its popularity was because of the fact that it was, entertaining and scandalous, akin to gossip magazines? like how he wrote about Emperor Tiberius' supposed depraved sexual tastes?, Very little scholars consider Suetonius a reliable source because of how his writings are the Roman Equivalent to of modern day smut and gossip writing involving historical figures.

Just because something is widely publicated that doesn't mean its reliable or truthful, nearly all of the most sold and published books in the world are fiction.

I've tried to read about Sieglin but he is so irrelevant that pretty much everything is in German and the man was born and lived during peak German Revanchism so that invalidates his impartiality in this matter.

I think that you are not reading what I'm writing so this will probably be my last reply. My point is that the writers were CONSIDERED TRUSTWORTHY by the contemporary readers. Although the readers could not know about the secret fetishes of Tiberius, they were still able to judge if a Roman emperor with blonde or red hair is plausible or not.
Even if the author is pulling some stories out of his ass to spice up his book he still wants to paint a realisitc framing for his biography.
