Now that the tyranny is over how can we profit off our soon to be flourishing economy?
I'm thinking of moving back for work in the construction industry after 2-3 more years of overeseas experience under my belt. Hopefully that's enough time for the budget to repair
Probably a good time to grab property in Johor/Kuching if any of us made it with our crypto gains. Most of us are probably overtaxed poorfags though kek
>Be Singaporean contractor >Find work in Malaysia >Do construction work half-way >Main con refused to pay up for several months >Own suppliers a lot of money >All subs don't get paid >Keep stringing subcontractors along >Eventually Main con company folds and their boss disappears >Project left unfinished
That was 2 months ago. This kind of bullshit is rampant in Malaysia and not unheard-of in Singapore. Right now, only the Chinacons are making a bit of money and they don't plan to stay long-term.
Jason Long
What is worse is when the main con folds. Another company, usually Indian takes over and buys the entire site. That company will start fucking over the subcontractors by replacing them wholesale and refusing to pay them and the workers. They will use their Indian subcontractors, fucking over Malaysian/Singaporean subcontractors. These subs don't get paid for the materials/labour hours and they will never see compensation of any sort. Main con company dissolves and the boss has vanished. Try suing the replacement maincon and they will drag the trial ad infinitum until you go broke.
And in case, you are thinking of joining them (The Indian Maincon). Unless you are India Indian with connections, you are not going to make the cut.

>ringgit recovers >all our profits wiped out On another note user, what coins do you own?
Joseph Rivera
that's just sad. The fact that shits like this are rampant shows how deep in shit we are at the moment - there are no quality personnel willing to invest in our country and so scams are allowed to flourish

Im a degenerate gambler so im all in link

Lol k. Enjoy your $1000 EOY. But please, consider better coins like Trx and Xvg in your portfolio.

How difficult is it to transfer fiat out of Malaysia? I want to do some arbitrage once the premium on BTC and alts comes back during a bullrun.
Isaiah Ward
>buy USDT on remitano >send to binance >buy BTC >sell BTC overseas through any means overseas What is this premium you speak of though? Luno and coinhako shit?
Jaxon Anderson
Malaysian (and other SEA) exchanges had a significant premium last Dec/Jan. I don’t remember which ones. Thailand will start to tax crypto withdrawals soon and I’m looking for an alternative.
Hunter Hughes
how did you do it? is it not a pain in the ass to transfer money out of Thailand?
Christopher Richardson
any currency that nobody wants commands a premium. look at krw. best way is to buy in and sell out into usd or jpy for asians. most banks allow these two currencies anyway.
Mason Williams
On the bright side, despite all this, the situation for the Malaysian construction industry is not nearly as bad as what is happening in Singapore.
To use an analogy- An Owner of a pond had started starving his very small pond full of fish and the water level started to drop day-by-day. The Big fishes immediately began eating out the small fish and pushing them out to die but even they are in dire straits. The froggos (the ones who can leave the pond) had already started leaving once they sense the absence of food for a larger pond.
The Whole industry is on Death row. Every con is thinking of an exit strat once their jobs are complete. Most have either retired or started working for Ninjavan/Grab
kota kinabalu is a good place to live once you /makeit/

Drill plz. Why do you say so?

KLSE Stock hints: Look at Proton and CIMB stocks
Wyatt Foster
because it's kota kinabalu... sabah is basically our newzealand
Austin Clark
proton has a history of poor stock quality and incompetent management board. Unless the election promises a reform in proton i dont see why it is a good long term choice
Nope my Thai bank allowed me transfer out thousands of dollars, no questions asked. Even the USD/THB conversion rate was very favorable. I’m not sure where the premium came from. I think a lot of it was rich Chinese fomoing into the crypto craze.
Chase Campbell
Solid points, keen to see how proton develops in the coming years
Evan Bennett
Ideally, you should buy before Proton's first SUV comes out. Now is a good time to enter any KLSE stock while everyone is still shell-shocked due to the election.
Chase Evans
So.. is Malaysia still going to be a shithole for the next couple years? What you guys think about the oil and gas industry in Malaysia ?
The way i see it, this is all an ochestrated dump by BN. They only allowed this election to be won because they're jumping ship after selling off our national assets.
The victory came at a cost and we probably cant allow ourselves to be heavily reliant on exports for economic growth anymore. I have no idea if it will ever be possible for malaysia to transition into an economy dominated by knowledge intensive industries. ( especially with some of the lazy fucks we have here )
Justin Stewart
how to be coiners in malaysia myfag what ewallet your using platform?
Lucas Gray
why? theres nothing here
Tyler White
i honestly dont want to go back to that shithole lmao good luck to me finding a job here and gl to u in my

>Tyranny is over >Dictator that ruled for 22 years reelected kek disillusioned fag
Doubt we can. We are so far behind. I mean they even banned ICOs here so what hope of innovation we have is out to the drain as always. Better just make it with crypto and migrate out if you have more than half a brain.
very interesting. i knew china was well known for these kinds of exit scam contractor things, but had no idea it was this bad in singapore. and i also had no clue that there were so many pajeets doin it (but it doesnt surprise me really)
