Erasmus in Gdansk

I'm going to be doing an Erasmus at the Medical University of Gdansk and I wanted to ask the Polish denizens of this board some questions.

Is the German hate high in academic circles or is it less of an issue? Should I pretend to be a britfag or something?

Is szwabi hate higher amongst the local populace?

Are your universities left wing hellholes or will I just be left alone to study in peace?

Are there any quirks or things considered particularly rude/ taboo in Poland that stand out compared to other central European countries?

If I put some effort into learning Polish will the local populace be okay with me speaking butchered Polish to them?

Is it true that only bottom of the barrel girls date Erasmus students and I should avoid them entirely?

How do I into good integrated student?

>Is the German hate high in academic circles or is it less of an issue? Should I pretend to be a britfag or something?
Nah, Polish student circles are quite a lot left-leaning, so they don't give a heck about nationality. Well, maybe in historian circles.
>Is szwabi hate higher amongst the local populace?
Poles like to complain about Germans being bad in history and and pushing their politics and economy into Poland, but to be honest no one here feels true hatred to Germans. I haven't heard about any racist attack on a German in recent years.
>Are your universities left wing hellholes or will I just be left alone to study in peace?
Polish universities are not hardcore leftist caves like in the west for historical reasons. Proffessors of political subject might suggest left views, but they don't shove them down your throat.
For example, despite being a conservative capitalist, I have chill socialist friends from local antifa.
>Are there any quirks or things considered particularly rude/ taboo in Poland that stand out compared to other central European countries?
Poles never smile in public, but doing so might just look weird, not rude. Nothing else comes to my mind.
>If I put some effort into learning Polish will the local populace be okay with me speaking butchered Polish to them?
Poles like when foreigners take a effort to learn more about Polish culture, so even if you butcher the language, they'll consider it a nice gesture. However most young Poles know English fluently, so you can survive without learning a lot Polish.
>Is it true that only bottom of the barrel girls date Erasmus students and I should avoid them entirely?
It's considered quite slutty to date someone you know is staying here only for a while. Some Polish girls have a taste for exotic men, and this earn disdain from their male compatriots.
>How do I into good integrated student?
Follow the tips, don't be arrogant and study well, I guess.

>medical school
>high academic circle
All students are left-leaning. Left-leaning = higher intelligence on average.

Only NEETs on Jow Forums dont like us, most poles i ever met are absolute bros.
Infact, I have NEVER met a pole that wasnt an absolute bro.

>Is the German hate high in academic circles or is it less of an issue? Should I pretend to be a britfag or something?
No, it does not exist.

>Is szwabi hate higher amongst the local populace?
No.

>Are your universities left wing hellholes or will I just be left alone to study in peace?
Depends on people. Usually people who teach pretend to be neutral because they cannot freely express their beliefs at work. Some small % will though.

>Are there any quirks or things considered particularly rude/ taboo in Poland that stand out compared to other central European countries?
If you are not sure who are you speaking with don't start with politics or history. Polish people are extremly sensitive when it comes to these two things. Save your nervers, it is not worth it.

>If I put some effort into learning Polish will the local populace be okay with me speaking butchered Polish to them?
People will surely appreciate it. You don't have learn too much even a few words will be seen as something good and that you took some effort.

>Is it true that only bottom of the barrel girls date Erasmus students and I should avoid them entirely?
I'd say it is 50-50.

>How do I into good integrated student?
Learn to drink vodka with a smile. Polish students are party type people so I guess you will attend many parties if you are not too shy/autistic.

Enjoy your stay. Make sure to visit some southern parts of the country.

lol the entire economy of the semen slurping danzigians relies on alms from g*rmanoid tourists, they will queue in lines to suck your cock as evidenced in this thread

that's the least they can do after we built their city

> after we built their city
Hmm....

poles take over and instantly turn it into a shithole, color me suprised. luckily the eu bucks keep on flowing.

>on average
>all
ok
You will get murdered by packs of screaming bydło

wykurwiaj

The only people that actually hate you are insecure idiots with issues.

Another one coming to Poland for next month! (Cracow)

Also, any tip for a Spanish student?, I already learnt basic Polish words.

wypierdalaj

Get ready for grey autumn and winter. You might miss the sun.

free tip for you
>find polack girl
>tell her you are spanish
>watch her kneel in front of you
>unzip

Kek

From what I know, plenty of Spaniards want to move here to work. You might want to use this time to learn the language, this might be of great help to you in the future.

This is exactly the kind of talk one should avoid while in Poland.

I think I'll get used to it

kek

Nice to know, but I don't think it will work for every of my countrymen. If you're an ugly moron it doesn't matter nationality, luckily not my case.

There are nice opportunities for my job in my country, I don't think I'll move to Poland, but I 'd like to learn the language better

>You might want to use this time to learn the language, this might be of great help to you in the future.
you pathetic worm with inferiority complex
even in completely unrelated thread you just can't hold yourself from inserting a smug comment about few dozens of foreigners who moved here
look at us, we are totally not an eastern european shithole, look at us we are so rich and developed we have immigrants now
meanwhile there are hundreds of thousands of subhuman slavshit polacks such as yourself picking strawberries in andalusia for 6€/hour

WTF are you talking about?
Also, you probably confuse me with someone else.

OP here, please ignore the other Hans. Also thanks to all Poles for the helpful replies.

Isn't it true that Germans destroyed 10% of the city because they wanted to maintain it and then the Russians came in and destroyed the other 90%?

The city wasn't build by germans in the first place.
Also gdansk is a shithole. I would move away from there if it wasn't for the nice sea.

>meanwhile there are hundreds of thousands of subhuman slavshit polacks such as yourself picking strawberries in andalusia for 6€/hour
I'm not this guy but you're fucking retarded, nobody is going to spain to work. We chose only germanic countries. Not even france or belgium is an option, not even switzerland.

Most of the city was destroyed during heavy fighting. The Germans didn't want to give it up because of evacuation of civilians and the propaganda value of the city. After all, the war was ostensibly started over Danzig.

I like how Danzig / Gdańsk contrasts with Koenigsberg. Or what's left of it.

>The city wasn't build by germans in the first place.
Gdansk is Kaszub clay

Damn, that girl on the left. My type

Imagine being such a great cuck that you visit the city that was stolen from your grandparents. You are like a Carthaginian going to Rome to learn Latin, or a Greek sucking up to the Turks and speaking Turkish in front of the Hagia Sophia.

>Damn, that girl on the left. My type

She's Polish, which means she's yours for €5.

Does it work the same when you're Bavaryan, but with guys instead of girls? :^)

>I have chill socialist friends
That's fine and normal
>from local antifa.
This is not fine and not normal, what the fuck

>Should I pretend to be a britfag or something?
I think that would get you even more of a wpierdol given the current political climate

It's simple, we hate each other's politics, but we both enjoy beer, vidya, girls and memes, so we do the latter together, and never mention politics.
