We had Egyptian, Incan, Olmec, Maian, Greek, Etruscan and many other culture's artifacts on collection. Historical documents from the birth of the nation, from the portuguese empire. Pottery made by several pre-discovery natives. Imperial regalia and furniture. Hell, the building itself was 200 years old. Our old throne room, were the most based brazilian men that ever existed (if there even is such a thing) sat and ruled from. Dinossaur fossils, skeletal remains from some of the first homo sapiens to set foot on South America. Flora and fauna specimens galore. Fossilized plants and insects. Meteorites.
It's all gone. It's all gone. And the government wasn't willing to spend yearly on the museum what it pays a single high ranking official.
