They don't even collect ethnicity in states in like Haryana. The Punjabi ethnicity spreads from Delhi to Himachal Pradesh. But the vast majority are just recorded as "Hindu." Also, Pakistan's birth rate is incredibly high, whereas East Punjab has below 2.0, not even replacement level. So recent history skews the difference in population. % is pointless to even use

Punjab in India has basically no malnourishment. It's agricultural output is too large and land is owned by the rural populace. Add that to a milk heavy diet and you got normal sized people. A lot of the rest of india is short because of growth stunting due to lacking enough food.
