It is fishy, that's the whole industry for you, they won't discuss pricing for you ever until you receive a bill for them, then you can negotiate with them either for a discount or for monthly payments. I got a bill from the er for $3300 and two separate bills from the doctors company. The er bill went down to $620+ but still have to pay the two other bills separately. Tfw I found out the hard way that I wasn't insured in the family plan
