Good question, bump

You just read up on WW2 and think it was sad?

On their front, yes.

When I was there I saw a lot of plaques commemorating the partisans who fought against the fascists.

The partisans were Jewish commie subhumans who Mussolini should have shot. He wasn't brutal enough against those Jews

We won WWII.
At least we are still LARPing that.

They think of Mussolini as a bretty good guy and aren’t brainwashed cucked like the krouts
DA JOOS

why's Italy so shit at war

It's the truth you retarded tea-kike

Yes the italians sure loved him.

>be Italy
>have literally ever advantage in going to war with fucking Albania of all countries
>still barely manage to break even in casualties
Were there any WWII Italian operations that weren’t incredibly embarrassing?

cringe

>Commies
>Human being

From the anglo-french dominant tradition we have i our institution it was the most horrific shit ever done ever by italy,
Imo in the eyes of mussolini it was only a dick-length challenge with hitler that went too far

*italiani

so I visited the american liberation memorial in Italy (yes, hurr durr muh dead americans) and I asked the curators what the italian point of view was when allied soldiers pushed back the krauts, and I got kind of a mixed answer. The guy said the younger generation of the time was grateful to be free of the facists, and that idea was I guess taught to the newer generations after, but the older/ruling generation of the time preferred mussolini's regime for what it had done to the nation following the depression

The partisans were just commie terrorists that showed up when the fascists already lost and then took all the credit.

Don't worry there's worse

Propagandized as liberation from Nazifascism
People think it is a downfall from there on

Go on.

Look at my fucking flag

Go on.

The sacrifice of the Great War was essentially made useless in 1940
Our reputation is forever tainted

WW2 was more a civil war in france between right wing / commies right? Lots of French didn't want to fight

>WW1
Side with the guys who will win even though they won't let you expand
>WW2
Side with the guys who can't win because they'd let you LARP as Romans

Yeah we do bet lectured on that and Poland in history class. The Italian front? Not so much.

Commies didn't want to fight because the USSR was allied with the Germans at the time. They and the socdem types also disagreed with militarism and being prepared because they blamed militarism for the losses in WW1 and for Germany wanting a second round.

This. We should have kept neutral but that dicklet of Mussolini wanted nice and savoy back

But I read in a book that the right wing didn't want to fight either, because they supported fascism.

Do you think that the Central Powers would've won if you'd sided with them in WW1?

Why did your king like him so much?

go back

Look at their flag
One is not Italian

Isn't it said that Mussolini originally wanted a neutral bloc with Austria to check Germany?
Siding with the Germans was clearly a mistake, because even if Mussolini isn't to blame for not seeing whether the Germans could win against the UK (let alone trying to take on the USSR and letting the US sneak into the war), he wasn't prepared for the campaign in Libya, let alone trying to take on the Balkans at the same time.

That's possible but unlikely, because unlike the left, right wing ideology usually values defending your country when it's under attack. Right wingers might have wanted reconciliation instead of militarism before the war (I'm no expert and it's pointless to speculate about an undefined "right wing"), but it's reasonable to imagine that French nationalists fought for France rather than sit it out or sabotage like lefties did.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
when will manlets learn?

I was referring to the short one.

Dud you replied to an Irishman and an Italian
I recognize our King in the picture we study about history here

We truly industrialized after the war.
Not a single one is embarassing.
In ww1 we sided with the ones that promised the most. In ww2 we sided with our only ally (a mistake without any doubts, but still)

Ah you're right haha. I couldn't tell since I dimmed my screen light.

what was his fucking problem, /ita/?

>WW2 was more a civil war in france between right wing / commies right?
Not really it's more complicated
>Lots of French didn't want to fight
In the end of the battle of France, yes, but in the beginning of the war the French were confident and were ready for a second round

It's only his fault. The wars in libia, abissinia and spain basically shut down the army and evertone knowed this. He couldn't stand that his autistic pupil was getting too strong and he went in war.
It's also the party's fault as he was seen as a demigod of war and nobody had the balls to stop him

He was inbred as fuck

Kek, anyway our King disliked every other royals and every man in power
He says this on his biography

Interesting. Surprised that someone in his circle didn't start a coup/assassination with that kind of attitude.

His story is indeed interesting
If you have time read it on Wikipedia

being sicilian

Look up “operation Camilla” if you all want a good laugh

Basically
>be British in North Africa
>want to attack Eritrea which is held by Italians
>devise plan to fool the Italians into thinking they were going to launch a massive attack to retake British somaliland
>the idea is that the Italians would move troops from Eritrea to reinforce British somaliland, then Britain would attack the weakened Eritrea instead
>the plan worked flawlessly, the Italians were totally fooled
>however, Italians being Italians said “fuck this” and withdrew everyone from British somaliland and moved them to Eritrea
>Brits now invade a much stronger Eritrea
>win anyway

Our army had shitty leaders and equipment, but the Navy did a nice job, expecially in the first part of the war

Weren't you guys pretty good during WWI?

we improved during the war, but the start was atrocious

no one did good in WW1

The Virgin Arab-Italian mutt: "Mussolini was a great man and Italy benefited from him."

The Chad Italiano from a senatorial family: "God, I wish Tito was Italian."

Cringe

German army did well pretty much throughout the war, French and British armies were excellent from 1917 to the end

the german army performed well but the country fell apart on the domestic side

Yeah they fought

For the nazis

Attached: 1536247308696.jpg (485x415, 24K)

>the USSR was allied with the Germans at the time
Nope

well, the German army did perform well, but due to ever increasing superiority of the Entente (thanks to the US entry into the war 1917) and the increasingly dire situation at home (due to the hunger caused by the naval blockade), it became clear Germany would be unable to win the war after the failure of the German Spring Offensive of 1918. In autumn 1918 the Entente finally broke through the Hindenburg Line, and instability at home increased ever more.
So the German army was defeated, in WW1 the leadership was just sane enough to end the bloodshed before the enemy would push into Germany

>unlike the left, right wing ideology usually values defending your country when it's under attack
Ah yes, I remember how the republicans in Spain in 1936 and my countrymen in 1941 said "fuck this", we surrender".

As we all know, extensive ruthlessness against resistance cells always works.

well you know, "doing well" also implies not collapsing. France and Italy didn't collapse despite suffering huge losses and having large portions of their territory occupied by the enemy.

There's still statues of Italian fascists in the US. I don't think people really had any problem

in an industrial war like WW1 (or WW2), even the best army can't win on its own. It's dependent on the superiority of the industrial and logistical capabilities of its country over those of the enemy. In WW1, the Entente had the clear superiority in all kinds of resources over the Central Powers, this is the reason they won. Even though the German army "did well", they couldn't win due to the inferiority of their countries' resources.
Same thing for WW2, and I'm not saying that the enemies during both WW1 and WW2 somehow fought badly, at times they did better than the German army, at times they did worse. It's just not the reason for why these two wars turned out the way they did, as I said, it was decided by the resources each side had available.

>staying neutral in the WW2
>dictatorship

Italy would get spared from bombardments, but eventually would also miss the development aid and would turn into Super Power's playground, being coup'd to death.

>Germany: Ok Japan time to attack Russia! We on western front and you on eastern front, if we split their forces it's over for them!
>Japan: FUKKO DATTO SHITTO I KAMIKAZE PEARLO HARBURO NIPPON STRONGU!!!
Next time without Japan

You should really read books instead of wiki pages

I don't remember who said it but was someone very close to Hitler
"I saw the Fuhrer really mad only two times, the first time when he learned that Paris had been abandoned without being razed to the ground, the second when he learned of the partisan attacks in Rome against German troops"
Rome was considered by far the most problematic capital conquered by Germany and north Italy was considered the only part of the nazi empire where troops were really constantly in danger
The partisans have been fundamental in allowing the advance in Italy of the allied troops, I don't say so, the allied generals said so
So they are deserved (and also a good thing for morale)

The central powers would have won with Italy staying neutral, this was the belief of UK and France and that's why they offered more than it was possible to grant to bring Italy in on their side

So true
WWI was basically attack=massive casualties without results for everyone on every front

Anglo propaganda
Saying France is bad at war is like saying Baggio was a bad player becuase he chocked a penalty
I feel so italian after this example kek

>Japan: FUKKO DATTO SHITTO I KAMIKAZE PEARLO HARBURO NIPPON STRONGU!!!
Lmao
you're not wrong though
however the Axis never really coordinated nearly as well as the Allies, even between Italy and Germany this was lacking
