How much does a studio apartment in Smolensk cost?
How much does a studio apartment in Smolensk cost?
I think its cheap. Even in center of city. Usually around 20-25k roubles per month. Why r u interested though?
20-25k for city center or is that the average price? Also how much to buy it, not rent? I want to retire in Russia because it's much cheaper there. Maybe there are cheaper cities?
10-12k roubles in Stavropol.
Looks quite far south. Is that where all the churkas live?
do you speak russian? do you have a passport?
>it's much cheaper there
Not much, if at all.
That looks like a really nice place to live.
Yes.
Your average salary is $600/month. If things weren't cheaper everyone would be homeless and starving.
Dont come here, you will find nothing apart from sufferings and sadness, especially in smolensk or another city that is not Moscow. Seriously think twice before coming here. Russia is cursed land.
> $600/month
Just enough for food, cheap clothes and maintenance fees.
In ex commie countries home ownership rate is around 80%.
Most of young people live with their parents and they don't pay rent since the flat belongs to them.
How much is food there? For a mostly rice + some meat diet?
No, churkas live a bit more to the south. Stavropol is still a Russian region.
Rural Canada is expensive?
>meat
6-12 $ per kilo
>rice
a buck per kilo on averge
russia is BASED, TRADITIONAL, WHITE and CHRISTIAN
Why do you want to live in Smolensk?
Huh, not much cheaper after all. Still, real estate is much cheaper, which is the main cost.
I've never lived in the country. I think there are some drawbacks. I'd have to look into it.
Well as I said earlier it's mostly about retiring early because I thought things were cheaper in Russia.
Ah, ok. Well, you should probably pick some comfy countryside then or something. Russia has it, mostly in Leningrad oblast and in the south.
How do people in the country get food? I probably sound really stupid asking but I've lived in the city my whole life so I have no idea. Also could you tell me how much rice and meat costs there? I have a feeling the other Russian user is a moscow oligarch.
Russia mostly imports food, especially edible food. A westerner wouldn't eat locally produced food in Russia.
>rice an meat
Are you a chink or what? Rice in Russia is imported so why would it be any cheaper than in Canada? People in Russia grow and eat potatoes and these are cheap.
You what.
Most of common food in Russia is local, we import mostly cheese and luxurious food, also tea, tropical fruits and other stuff that we can't grow.
They have malls out there as well. Also you can grow vegetables, but you still gonna need to buy cereals and meat.
just buy an apartment or a house instead of renting.
>20-25k for a studio in Smolensk
maybe if you're living in the absolute center of the city, yeah.
they grow a lot of their own food, buy the rest from neighbors or at stores.
"malls" is the wrong word, i meant "shops".
Also people in the countryside often visit cities to buy things like clothing and stuff like that.
What you call "food" wouldn't be called food anywhere in the world. Russian food doesn't meet sanitary standards in civilized countries. Russians buy smuggled food from Finland or Poland or simply buy Belarussian products just not to eat Russian food.
Russian cheese almost doesn't have milk inside, kek
6-10k roubles on Avito. That's a pretty common price for renting in Russia, if you don't live in Moscow, of cource.
dudewhat, I'm a Westerner and I largely eat local Russian/Byelorussian food. I even eat apples that fall on the ground outside my apartment ffs.
So how much does a house/apartment cost to buy in Smolensk? I think the first guy doesn't want me to come to Russia so he's telling me it's super expensive.
>i am reading /po/ on 2ch and polish articles about Russia so i know what Russia is
Stop trolling, really.
Хoхoл, тeбe Пaн paзpeшил oт чиcтки тyaлeтa oтвлeкaтьcя?
they eat onions: onion soup, onion cake, fried onion, onion bread
Dunno about houses, but price for an apartment on Avito (Russian site similar to craigslist) starts from 1.1kk roubles.
almost all food is better in Russia than in America. cheese is literally the only exception that I can think of.
a quick search on Cian shows a price rang of 750k-3 mil. so 14-56k Canadian dollars.
I don't know why you'd want a studio though. at minimum you should have a one-room apartment, as they call them here.
Nice, thanks. Is it true your water is dirty shit btw?
oops never mind, most expensive studio in Smolensk is 2.1 mil, so like 39k cad.
and the locals here all boil their water, but I think it's fine. I've never gotten sick from it. well water in villages is definitely superior to city water, though.
It depends on the city and sometimes on district of the city. Like, in my city water is okay, but in one particular district it's dirty shit. Anyways, people here usually don't drink tap water without filtering or boiling it.
Why is your water so bad? Bad pipes? Polluted water source?
I already told you, I personally think the water is fine. I've never had any bad experiences with it. neither has any other Westerner that I know has come here. probably leftover local paranoia from back whenever the water was bad (I'm living in Moscow atm)
It depends, but in most of cases it's the second option, or just inefficient cleaning. In many cities here water is good, but people are just being cautious and still filter their water.

Was there butthurt between Russians and Ukrainians before 2014?
Eди cыpoк, oн тaкoй вкycный жe
No, Ukrainian never cared about roosters.
ukraine was always butthurt but now it's extremely butthurt
Yeah, but after 2014 it got much stronger.
Russia is MUCH cheaper than Canada though, however Ukraine is even better. If a Canadian who saved money / sold his property back home wants to retire there he can live like an oligarch
Ukraine seems nice too, especially Crimea because of the weather. I heard there was a lot of waste dumped into the surrounding water there recently. Also it's a war zone.
Crimea is technically Russia now (but actually it always was).
When you retire 50 years from now everything will be different so there's no point in asking these questions.
I'd go to Odessa, it has nice beaches, pleasant climate and is overwhelmingly Russian-speaking
Yes, but also it's redpilled
How do the russians and ukrainians get along there?
if I was gonna retire in 50 years I'd just stay here.
Pretty good I guess, better than in Kiev at least
In Ukraine even those who consider themselves Ukrainian often have Russian as their native language, so if you see someone speaking Russian in Ukraine it doesn't mean he is ethnically Russian.
I wouldn't mind buying a flat in Ukraine someday. I spent some time in Komi Republic in Russia for 4 months - A provincial town. Not as bad as you think. Ukraine doesn't seem as intimidating when dealing with the bureaucracy of buying property.
Sadly I don't think Ukraine allows dual citizenship unlike Russia. Since my Grandparents were Volga-Deutsch, I thought it would be special to live in Saratov.
I don't think you're allowed to have dual citizenship if you naturalize as a Russian citizen.
My parents have both russian and canadian citizenship.
There's my answer. Do you have it also since they are?
yeah but let me guess, they got Canadian citizenship after they were born with Soviet citizenship
Yes.
No, but I think I could get it easily. But if what the russian guy is saying is right, I'd have to renounce my canadian citizenship to become a russian citizen. Not sure how legit that is. A russian friend of mine visited Russia. I assume he has a passport but maybe he just went with a visa.
I assumed he had russian citizenship*
russian-canadian, rather
Why did it look comfier 100 years ago?
Back to work, Mykola.
Yes. Khokhols have been butthurt ever since they got independence. They claimed they were feeding whole USSR and they would be second France without Russians. But it turned to even bigger shit instead.
Yeah, right. Who the fuck are you lying to? The whole point of ukrainian identity is being butthurt about Russia, and to less degree about other neighbors.
But why aren't you in ATO?
