Why is Estonia such a wonder of a country?! Only 25 years ago it was devastated by communist rule, but now Estonian people live better than Greece, Portugal and Italy, we're not even talking about ex-USSR.
By the way did you know that public transport is FREE in Estonia?
And they even can VOTE ONLINE?
And NOKIA has facilities over there because Finnish infrastructure is obsolete compared to Estonia, which is LITERALLY permeated with optic fibre?
Bravo, Estonia

Bravo Eesti

>By the way did you know that public transport is FREE in Estonia?

And this is actually heavily criticized because Estonia's liberal tax system won't allow the budget to maintain the public transit system properly and it's gonna deteriorate soon.

Moreover, Estonia was always the richest republic of the USSR so it's not that they were a shithole and became a paradise out of nowhere, like South Korea.

BIG if true

This young history student single-handedly saved Estonia from being a complete shithole. Sadly we're dealing with problems of excessive civilization now (dependence on comfort, domestication and a lack of purpose).

>Estonia was always the richest republic of the USSR
This always confuses me, how do communist countries still have large regional disparities like that, or Slovenia being the rich jews of Yugoslavia?

Just start suicinding like other first world shitholes

because communism didn't work, someone is always better/more productive than another.

Productivity yes, but how do you have people in a region making more money if everything is supposedly distributed by the government according to certain standards?

It'll get better. You guys just have to jump on the medical teach manufacturing train. It's what's going to keep most economies running towards the Cyberpunk future

The Soviet Union was in some ways a federation. Moscow sent production quotas to different republics in the union. Let's say that Moscow decides it needs to increase pork production to feed Moscow or electricity production to support Leningrad. It then sends orders to different republics to meet those quotas. Depending on the leader of the union micromanaging was usually left to the locals. There was still money and a heavily restricted free market. Republics in the Baltics were richer because they had more advanced industries (workers were paid more) than Central Asian republics for example. Georgians were the richest because they were clever jews who knew how to play politics.

>if everything is supposedly distributed by the government according to certain standards?

And the standards were that Estonia was appointed as the centre of Soviet hi-tech so the people were eligible for getting more goods of better quality and they were better educated and produced goods of higher value.

Alright I see, guess in the end you can't really override supply and demand (plus local politics).

>South Korea is a paradise
lol

t. jap

Compared to what it was immediately after the war.

Our people aren't working anymore. I'm starting to understand to the migrant meme now. We have become so lazy and domesticated we're basically begging to be replaced.

The national news had a special section for "mental health issues" including suicides for the first time yesterday. We're becoming sissies. They will put half of the population on meds and they will be happy to get fucked in the ass.

>but now Estonian people live better than Greece, Portugal and Italy
The Estonians have about the same per capita GDP as Greece, far behind Italy
They also have one of the highest murder rate in Europe, on a par with the US. It's still a shithole.

Half of the population escapes reality by getting blackout drunk every week. I´m not sure if them going on meds is really a bad thing. At least then people would understand that they have a problem.

Check out the third map, which adjusts for purchasing power. Not bad at all for a former Soviet "shithole".

>They also have one of the highest murder rate in Europe

That's Narva boys.
