Kids usually take after the father so if you are white, most likely, they will not identify as Mexican-American. They will just say "I'm half-white."
If you are chi, maybe. I only had one friend who's dad was Mexican and mom was white and he didn't identify as Mex-American either.

I remember reading that all the CHI's that got deported by trump created their little enclave in mexico city, like any immigrant group. Majority of mexicans there thought they where thugs/gangsters and would bring crime.

There are a FEW excepcions that are just low budget road films (almost home made) like Por la Libre or Y Tu Mamá También. But again, the modern movies are plain cheap romanticcomedy garbage.
