That pic made me realize that old dudes with kinks are the only type of older men who can get younger women to fuck them without money.

I want to write a short story set in the balkans to pass the time since I'm a worthless NEET
The main character is going to be a vlach in the 13th century but I also want to add "foreigners" in it (bulgarians, greeks, serbs) so I want to ask about the local color
Are there any peculiarities or details I should know about the balkan people of the middle ages
The Greek lands are in Latin hands at this time. I don't know how the Vlach-Latin relationship was, I guess not that good because of religious reasons.
Well one thing to keep in mind is that aristocracy was badly intermarried at that point. A ruler had Serb, Bulgarian, Byzantine, Vlach, Cuman blood in them.
Probably either neutral or whatever bulgaria's relationship was since we were part of the second bulgarian tsardom at the time. I wanted to add a greek priest who came to proselytize and to make sure the vlachs are kept away from latin influences, though.
Bulgaria destroyed the Latin state in Constantinople.
Good idea, he must on a secret tho because the Catholics probably wouldn't like such a thing happening, despite being relatively more relaxed towards Orthodoxy in the later years
So far the the only four characters I have in mind are a vlach huntsman, a greek priest, a bulgarian boyar and a cuman princess and the conflict revolves around the mongol invasion of europe
I wanted the feeling of the story to be a melancholic sort of "the world we know is ending" but with people from around the area working together to survive
*on a secret mission
Were the bogomils a thing at that point, or had they been exterminated?
>Bogomilism was eradicated in Bulgaria and Byzantium in the 13th century, but survived in Bosnia and Herzegovina until the Ottoman Empire gained control of the region in 1463.
I like what you have atm. Where will the story take place? Latin influence on Vlachs implies Byzantine/Greek lands but from a quick wiki on Cumans they were on the northern bank of the Danube
It starts in northern wallachia, in the mountains. The only outline I have right now is that a harried party of cumans arrive in a vlach village to seek refuge and their arrival heralds the invasion of the golden horde. Then the rest of the story is how the denizens of the balkans and carpathians try to survive the mongol invasion as eastern europe burns and is seen through the eyes of the four main characters, who represent the "commoner", the "noble", the "religious authority" and the "fish out of water pagan".
Nice, I like the whole thing.
are you the balkanscript autist
No, but I remember him. I'm just a retard with no job and nothing better to do.
