Japan. Although America is a great place now, I am not bullish about the long term demographic prospects of the place.

As someone who had to make this choice IRL I chose US. I had both Japanese and US citizenship and chose to give up my Japanese passport. I know this sounds like a meme but there's more opportunity in the states I feel like you can do anything. Japan is more developed and makes the US look 3rd world but it comes at the cost of being a salaryman and spending your waking hours at work or commuting.

This, the Japanese sense of humour is so odd, there is no subtlety at all. Explaining jokes here means ruining one, but in Japan it seems like they think explaining it makes it funnier
