Jews in the US are largely mixed, leftist, and secular. The average American Jew is further genetically from an Israeli Jew than an ethnic German is from an ethnic Anglo.
It’s a completely appropriate comparison. An American Jew would sooner “flee” to Canada than Israeli for kinship. Jews are the biggest mutts in the US, and identify as 1st world English-speaking mutts more than they identify as Jews. They don’t give a shit about preserving the purity of their Jewish lineage, they want everybody to become mutts like them, while Israeli Jews are deeply concerned about preserving Jewish purity both religiously and ethnically.
It’s not that hard to figure out why they aren’t on the same page.
