Yeah cold weather is terrible. I used to think I preferred it to the tropics but now I realize that's bullshit. More often than not, tropical humidity is far more manageable. Cold weather just sucks. Waking up when it's cold out just makes you hate yourself when you have to get out of bed. Awful, awful.

Honestly I feel like an heroing whenever the indoor temperature is higher than 21°C. At least with cold weather you can add more layers or take a hot shower/bath/sauna; with hot weather there's practically nothing that can be done about it (especially when it's humid too).

Listen, cold weather is something that southerners can't understand. As a kid, there is nothing better than heading out in -20C through a foot or more of snow to play hockey. Skiing on an empty mountain in -32C as the cold wind stings your face is glorious. Nothing better than winter.

I have the opposite experience. In cold weather there's really nothing you can do about it. Add layers? Great, sounds constricting af and makes you feel like you're wearing a fat suit. And I'm sure there are hot showers and saunas wherever you go, right?
Meanwhile in hot weather you can find a bottle of cold water and just pour it on yourself or walk into an a/c room of which there are plenty or just turn on a fan or find some shade.
Getting lost in a heat wave is far less likely to kill you than getting lost in a blizzard.
