>汚らわしい名前を出すなよ
what does 出す mean in this context? I thought it meant issue/hand out but that doesn't make sense

What context
Probably "Don't talk about that filthy name"

Yeah, person A is going "you remind me of someone", then says his name and person B gets angry
So it's probably what you said

I don't know the technical linguistic name for it(even if it has one), but things like this get a lot easier to parse as you think about them speaking it and the tone used

>出す
It would be regarded as a contraction of various phrases. What I could exemplify here as most natural ones are
>口に出す:utter
>持ち出す:bring in(not "out" for this context though..), refer
But effectivley the both mean the same. Or it could be simply regarded as the verb "出す"
>show, pull out

Added a list of concepts with links.

>to whoever maintains the site, this page need some work, its so big it literally fries my machine. itazuraneko.neocities.org/grammar/donnatoki maybe pages or something would be nice.
Replaced the どんなときどう使う 日本語表現文型辞典 link on the main grammar page with a main page similar to the other grammar references. There is a link to the full page as well as links to individual entries on pages which are anchored to the specific 五十音順 page they appear in.
itazuraneko.neocities.org/grammar/donnatoki.html
For example, all of the entries starting with あ appear on
itazuraneko.neocities.org/grammar/donnatoki/agyoudonnatoki.html
These pages are a lot smaller. The links within them which point to concepts on a different page do not work, yet. They will be fixed up later.
That large single page you were having issues with was never meant to be a stand alone thing, I'm just lazy and slap dash about all of this stuff.

Why is the の here?

Attached: no.png (379x45, 3K)

It acts as a buffer since you can't directly modify a plain verb with another. Think of it as a short form of 話すのことを止めて。

Thanks.

How do I learn to read in Japanese instead of English, especially with Kanji? For example, when I see "6年前" I recognize it pretty quickly as "6 years ago" but fail to read it in Japanese. Instead of
>read kanji as Japanese
>translate to English (if necessary)

It is usually
>read kanji as English meaning
>translate to Japanese (and this step is skipped if I'm reading fast)

I feel like it's really hampering my growth through reading, any advice?

Say it out loud so the neighbours hear you and think its Pearl Harbour 2

Does this happen with everything?
I can't read words in Japanese unless I'm quite familiar with them.

>read kanji as English meaning
Genius! Why do you even need Japanese? Just learn it as a different English writing system.

But seriously, just practice. You need exposure to language to be able to switch your thinking mode. Listen to japanese youtubers. Or just make yourself read it as ろくねんまえ whenever you see the kanji. Maybe write or imagine the word as hiragana or even romaji to help with the right reading.

Are there any guides to Japanese for foreign learners in Japanese? I have skimmed through the guide, but haven't found any.

>How ling have you learn it?
After learning English for more than a decade, I even feel insecure if I am pronouncing "th" and "l" correctly while reading English text.

I feel pretty proud of myself when I do something right. You should go see a doctor or something.

thx

Why is there 4 嫁 娵 婦 媳, you use a different one for each wife?

Should I try to stop anki and use all my time reading instead?

I think after core it's way less effective to grind anki, you need to learn some words to get started, but after a certain level I feel like just reading might be more effective.

Especially cause I often don't understand my mined words due to them lacking context.

Attached: 1456125653353.jpg (283x314, 26K)

I think he means he's insecure about whether he's pronouncing them correctly or not.

Generally doctors here are too busy with writing out prescriptions for their healthy patients.
I don't wanna get their useless reprimands anymore.
Exactlyでございます

Attached: nag.png (530x197, 31K)

>嫁 wife
>婦 wife in specific compound words like 新婦 or 夫婦. otherwise women generally
>娵,媳 we never use them

yeah, dont learn new vocabulary, just repeat the old one
make a new set and add words you picked up from reading, doesnt have to be every words you dont know yet, just the ones you find interesting

>After learning English for more than a decade, I even feel insecure if I am pronouncing "th" and "l" correctly while reading English text.
Using 'even' here makes no sense, 'still' would be a better word. 'insecure' as well, 'unsure' would fit more.

Are there any videos like Abroad in Japan, but in Japanese? I want to watch natives exploring various places.

Not what you want but
youtube.com/user/Rambalac/videos
youtube.com/channel/UCAo_i-xGfuhrcVtdjFbbJhA/videos

It does make sense, it just has a slightly different meaning.
He even feels insecure about something that simple.

Also I think this guy is Russian

Then why mention how long he has been learning it for, obviously he meant to say something else

Attached: tanaka200.gif (700x625, 655K)

I meant "even" after I have learned his language more than 15 years I still feel unsure whether I am reading English correctly or not.
>How long has he learned it?
And
Thanks as always.

Attached: yotsu_thank.jpg (233x278, 15K)

It's pretty much the same as "Even after learning English for more than a decade, I feel insecure if I am pronouncing "th" and "l" correctly". Not exactly but there's a clear reason why the time was brought up.
I can't explain things well but makes sense to me

あた~まわ~るわ~る

Yeah, and what I feel is not
>わっかんねえなあ…
but
>駄目だ…駄目だ…
So I chose "insecure"

Attached: insecure.png (320x240, 157K)

Definitely not what I was looking for, but still pretty cool.

Insecure is a shit word only fags use, find something better.

Whats the fastest way to learn kanjis? Pls

Attached: 1521458554231.jpg (415x422, 100K)

Made perfect sense right?

Becoming an Anki drone and setting new cards to 9999

Is there a way to reset the deck? I have one but I want to start over again and it shows me kanjis that come later.

What do you mean exactly?

I have a deck I used to study, but now it is at like 500th kanji and I want to start over from the beginning, can I reset somehow or have to implement again?

Have any of you come up with an idea of chanting mantras? I do it to get rid of my feeling of insecurity but wondered if it'd be some help of leaning kanjis as well.

Select cards in browse, hit reschedule

That's very specific for that newfag
Select the deck, click browse at the top, Ctrl+A the cards you learned, click edit and reschedule

>Ctrl+A the cards
Select the cards, no clue if wiping all of it will fuck with the order or something.

>無題.png

I'm insecure because I don't know if I'm using it correctly desu

>obviously you are using your OS in Japanese

Attached: whocare.jpg (311x400, 29K)

Nah I just changed the name from Untitled to 無題 because I can.

Attached: 1477678226237.jpg (500x500, 32K)

Don't listen to the pole, your use of even and insecure are fine. But, macho people don't like "insecure" because it implies weakness. Specifically, in an emotional context, they think insecurity is highly undesirable, annoying, or weak.
The irony is that those people who think "insecure" is for fags are the most insecure of all!

thank you bros.

Here's your reply

Should mention 嫁 is very 関西 specific. 関東 people do not use 嫁

Most people in standard Japanese use 奥さん to refer to wife or if polite 妻 or 家内.
In 関西 area in casual Japanese 嫁 is used often for one's wife.

Since a wife can be your own or others, there's lots of ways to either lower or heighten status depending on the person you're talking to.

>Not living in 関西
あほぬかせ

My wife and I have a house in 四国, which is just west Japan so a little bit different than 関西弁 but similar in a lot of ways.
嫁 is used mostly there.

>関東 people do not use 嫁
sounds really 昭和 American bro, because of the hegemony of 関西芸人s, even people around Tokyo have come to call their wives "嫁".

Nowadays everybody throughout the country is quite a bit capable of speaking standard Japanese(標準語) and Kansaiben in addition to their own dialects, thanks to TV and the web.
>My wife and I have a house in 四国
Really nice to hear that

災害に対するメンタルヘルスの正しい普及とチーム医療を行うことが、中・長期的な正しい薬物療法に繋がることを考えると、本研修会は大変意義のあるものだと思われます。

The first part appears to say "the proper spread of mental health, as well as team treatment". Does the "proper spread of mental health" mean mental health care with correct methods?

Ofc it's a magic trick.

Attached: beatrice beato troll umineko.png (525x480, 162K)

>mental health care with correct methods
Exactly. Doctors here are enough idiots other than
>中・長期的な正しい薬物療法 (writing out prescripitons for excessive medication)
so that they even dropped a single simple word "ケア".

Attached: doctor.png (480x696, 109K)

Thanks!

>The links within them which point to concepts on a different page do not work, yet
All these links are now working so the smaller pages can be used to go back and forth between each other as well as the links to other concepts on different pages, without having to use the large single page. Toaster friendly, in other words.
The master grammar reference table page now also links to these smaller pages.

The other day someone sent some textbook/test type things via the private message feature of the itazuraneko site feedback guestbook. They are in the コルヌコピア but since that thing is huge, I'll post the link here to give it a chance of being seen. Can't vouch for their quality. They may be useful, they may be not.

There was also another submission, this one about Japanese phonetics and pitch accent.

Were there any other issues or suggested posted I overlooked? I'll check the thread again hopefully tonight.

should i memorize the hiraganabefore reading anything about numbers or grammar?

i was thinking that maybe remembering the numbers would be easier if i had words to associate them but im not sure...

You should learn hiragana and katakana before anything

>I can't read words in Japanese unless I'm quite familiar with them.
What does that even mean?

Without love it cannot be seen

What the fuck is happening here

Yea it's not bad. We're only there 2-3 months of the year honestly. It's her parent's home after her mom died so just debating if we want to sell it or not. I like it in Kagawa though. It's nice.

How much can you even get for it? I was under the impression that the Japanese housing market is utter shit outside of Tokyo

I've talked to one of my real estate friends who estimated around 350k-400k for it, even in that 田舎, but you're right, really not many buyers in that area. The taxes just to keep it are a pain in the ass so eventually will need to sell it unless we plan on spending more time there. I'm only 36 though so no plans to retire anytime soon....

another 50

Can anyone point out where I am going wrong with this? The second sentence is something I cannot wrap my head around.

[千春]
舞花ちゃんは別のイベント予定でハロウィンの方は不参加だし。。。

>This is embarassing after all...!

It looks like you basically understand the second sentence to me. She is saying that if she gives the dress a sexy vibe it will stand out.

>私がセクシ-なドレスですか
A sexy dress for me?
>千春さんが。。作ってくれるドレスなんでも好きです!
I'll like any dress Chiharu makes me!
>それでできたのがこれですね!
And what she made is this!

Thanks for taking the time to go through it.
