It's good for our economy, commerce shouldn't bee seen as hostility towards the EU
>commerce
Read the article. It's about Chinese 'investments' in strategic sectors. That's not just mere commerce.
Also what happened to based Greece BTFO'ing the evil EU by selling their ports to China?
True. I hope we join you soon.
China and Spain are brothers
It still is
>lower your debt levels!
>open up to foreign investment
>reeeeee not to Chinese investment you have to accept only GERMAN investment
You're an idiot. You don't think it's strange China is only interested in 'investing' in vital infrastructure or companies with cutting edge technology?
You won't see a Chinese investment fund put money in some local Greek/Italian factory that produces something they don't care about.
Yeah i used the wrong word
I don't think China is the great satan some US posters make them out to be, but you're seriously deluded if you believe that the only thing China cares about is setting up some sort of fair and equal economic relationship when they offer to buy a port or want your nuclear plant.
we sell them something else so Eu and USa become jaelous and offer better deals, so China will offer better deals and so on.
Yes I understand it's often just a bargain chip. I just think it's interesting how China never really tries to pull these things off in Western-Europe but rather becomes friends with more disenfranchised nations. Same goes for Russia too.
I worked for a German energy company and a Chinese company offered to buy a 'cursed' energy plant (newly build but was too flawed to operate). I think in the late stages of the bidding process the German government stepped in and simply prohibited selling the thing to a non-EU party. Of course their plan was to take it apart and ship the whole thing to China as these machines are up to 20% more efficient than coal plants there (KWh per kilo of coal is much higher)
Germanoids paranoia only makes my dick harder
The vast majority of “China’s” investments are purely for profit.
Or do you really think they bought $1.5 trillion treasuries for something else?
China isn't a free market society like we are. If you are dealing with a Chinese company they can be summoned by the Chinese government at any given time to do something in their best interest.
Their investments aren't always purely for profit. They try to buy themselves into strategic markets or even try to create political leverage. If you ever end up having a problem with the Chinese government you will find out that all these 'private' Chinese companies suddenly follow suit.
We have high unemployment. The chinese only care about their interests, but if their investments can help us with our unemployment they are welcome
China’s coal plants are most efficient and have the best technology in the world
You might be thinking of the coal scrubbing tech. Funny how Germany talks environmentalism but then freaks out when China wants to clean its air
Woah just like every country
If you really think España or Alemania are different... haahhahahahaha
Microsoft, google, apple... they are butt buddies with the NSA and CIA.
It is a short term solution that might create a gigantic long term problem. Thread carefully.
>China’s coal plants are most efficient and have the best technology in the world
Then why do they try to buy a coal plant from Germany and have it stripped down and send to China?
The new generation of German coal plants have an efficiency of 46% and are only about 6 years old now. All plants before that would be happy if they reached 40%. The drawback of course is gigantic investment and maintenance.
The majority yes, but there are cases like the Hungary and Greece where for economic benefit, they cosy up to the Chinese government more, as their business are very often closely intertwined with the state.
For example Greece blocked an EU statement on human rights in China, Hungary and Greece among other countries were reluctant to OK a statement from the EU backing the South China Sea ruling.
The port is prosperous now.
>Microsoft, google, apple... they are butt buddies with the NSA and CIA.
Yes why else do you think the EU is trying to keep them out so much?
Exactly. And the same mechanics are often used by Russia through Bulgaria, Greece and Hungary. Very poor and corrupt nations that are simply easily bribed and in general have no real honor.

I don’t know but their tech is better than Europe’s standard
I am almost certain it is the scrubbing tech in the plant they are after.
Okay? That does not change the fact the vast majority, at least $1.5 trillion, of Chinese investment is not politically motivated.
You might as well start blocking google and apple in your countries lmao
Yes it is. Nothing in China works like it does over here and every Chinese national abroad is an agent of the Chinese government. That doesn't mean that every action they take is done to infiltrate or subjugate but regardless the government has a saying in every Chinese company.
Don't forget that the Chinese government has the right to replace at any given time the entire board of directors, which they have done plenty of times in the past, with their own chose people.
The vast majority is not because richer countries which attract the most investment have clout enough to stand up for themselves. The effect is going to be a lot more noticeable in the Czech Republic than here, despite the UK being one of the hotspots for Chinese investment.
