Probably a bootleg chinese wall charger was connected. They've caused batteries to overcharge from exploding as they arent "smart" and basically just a shitty rectifier. Without a GFI it could theoretically dump a lot of watts into a body of water. So it wouldn't be the actual phone killing her.
