Sort of shareholders have their say (and they need to be aligned) but ultimately its managment that steer the company, there is a reason why there is an alliance in the first place and that's down do gohsn not the shareholders.

Theses products arent meant to make money directly, they are for branding like 80% of sports cars.

Totally wrong. Something as strategic as an alliance is decided by the board, especially since it implies exchanging actions.

Since Renault owns 42% of Nissan, it's virtually impossible to end the alliance without Renault agreeing to it.

Then look at how theses actions look after nissan managment killed gohsn, not too fucking good, how can it be? A managment decision can easily out shareholders simply by making them loose money, if nissan keep on rocking the boat shareholders will either bow or sell, its a classical corporate power play.
