IT IS NOT SWEDISH. Swedes always was a minority and ruling elite at some point. Almost 20% of modern Finns are pure Old Germanic stock after removing the Swedes from the equation. Old Germans came to Finland maybe 2000 years ago. Swedes came 800 years ago, so it is much later. The Dutch arrived in Finland 500 years ago.
This is the likely source of Finnish language having so much of preserved Germanic words which have disappeared from modern German, Austrian and Swizerlandic.
Tiwaz (rune) is named after Týr, and was identified with this god. The reconstructed Proto-Germanic name is *Tîwaz or *Teiwaz.
Notice how Teiwaz sounds a lot like Tavastia (the Finnish name for South Central Finland excluding Helsinki region, or Tavastland in English.
There are lots of Teuvo male names there, again indicating the Teiwaz.
Finnish word for the sky and heavens is Taivas. Coincidence?
Finnish genetics show often closer relations to Belgians and Dutch than to Swedes. UNLESS a person is an actual Swede descendant which very well may be in Finland but they are a minority.
Swedes used to deport all their physically deformed and those caught in sexual attacks against farm animals to West Finland That's why Timo Soini of Satakunta looks the way he does although he might have some pig admixture as well
Bentley Gray
>although he might have some pig admixture as well You're saying he is Danish?
Oliver Miller
The only good things that ever came out of Finland are because of Fenno-Swedes

I love how some Finnish words are directly the same as proto-Germanic. The word "Kuningas" for king. That hasn't changed since all Germanic languages were the same. That alone says how ancient Finnish is.
Carter Price
Finnish language actually came from Estonia in 300 AD

Kuningas comes from the Swedish word Konungar, which means KANGS.

Who the hell cares? You are blond people with mongol fighter genes, be proud over it
Dominic Edwards
The literal proto germanic word for king is Kuninggaz
