Are you satisfied with your country's leader in Civ 6? Your country is important enough to be in, right?

yeah, King Jadwiga was the boss
>Sweden
>Kristina
HOLY FUCKING SHIT I CALLED IT. I knew they would choose a totally irrelevant monarch who's only claim to fame is ending one of Sweden's most important dynasties because "muh womyn". Fuck you Firaxis. Fuck you.
Lautaro was hella based so yeah.
I'm actually surprised they added Sweden at all after Norway is already in.
Didn't she do literally nothing and die in her twenties?
and shes not even hot
Do they actually think any girl plays civ?
>I'm actually surprised they added Sweden at all after Norway is already in.
First the fuck up the Swedish leader in CIV5 by using the wrong fucking king as a model, and now this fucking shit.
What did we ever do to Firaxis?
btw she is also a Saint in the Catholic church. I'll copy some shit from wiki because I'm lazy:
>Two leading historians, Oscar Halecki and S. Harrison Thomson, agree that Jadwiga was one of the greatest rulers of Poland, comparable to Bolesław the Brave and Casimir the Great.[158] Her marriage to Władysław-Jogaila enabled the union of Poland and Lithuania, establishing a large state in East Central Europe.[158] Jadwiga's decision to marry the 'elderly' Władysław-Jogaila instead of her beloved fiancé, William of Habsburg, has often been described as a sacrifice for her country in Polish historiography.[9] Her biographers emphasize Jadwiga's efforts to preserve the peace with the Teutonic Order, which enabled Poland to make preparations for a decisive war against the Knights.
>Jadwiga's cultural and charitable activities were of exceptional value.[159] She established new hospitals, schools and churches, and restored older ones.[159] Jadwiga promoted the use of vernacular in church services, especially the singing of hymns in Polish.[159] The Scriptures were translated into Polish on her order.[159]
>Władysław-Jogaila and Jadwiga jointly asked Pope Boniface IX to sanction the establishment of a faculty of theology in Kraków.[163] The pope granted their request on 11 January 1397.[164][165] Jadwiga bought houses along a central street of Kraków for the university.[165] However, the faculty was only set up a year after Jadwiga's death: Władysław-Jogaila issued the charter for the reestablished university on 26 July 1400.[162][164][165] In accordance with Jadwiga's last will, the restoration of the university was partially financed through the sale of her jewellery.[163]
>Numerous legends about miracles were recounted to justify her sainthood. The two best-known are those of "Jadwiga's cross" and "Jadwiga's foot"
They always give Sweden science bonuses, which always makes it one of the best factions because science is always the best thing to specialize in. At least you have that.
see
Civilization 5 is one of my favorite games, i must have over a thousand hours on it. But i'll never play another of their games again, thats how salty i am at the fact they didnt include Portugal, instead choosing shit literal who civs, i mean for fuck sake, the only relevant thing about Kongo is our interections with them, they are the real life Albertos. Mvemva a Nzing renamed himself João after our king, yet this shitty back water niggers that we rose from ignorance are in the game and the great country that connected the world is not.
FUCK THIS GAME IM SEETHING
Imagine if they made Finland and used our first female president.
>harald hardrada is portrayed as a pagan, and with dark hair
strange
Hate this game
MUH LEADERS autists need to be gassed
>WAAAAH why is Philip the Manlet in when Richard Longcock did x and y, so much more important than Philip's z!!!!
>WAAAAH why are the Ungabunga tribe in, they did nothing worthwhile, the Wakataka had better spear tips!!!!
In every Civ thread ever, over and over again, in every fucking combination imaginable. 10% of every thread is mechanics talk and the actual game, 90% is endless bitching about why King Superman is cooler than King Batman, with a hint of "THEM SJWs" sprinkled all over.
Yes I mad.
Jadwiga would not be my first choice. Or my second. Or tenth.
But at least she was not a fucking loser like the majority of our kings, and fits a religious-gameplay oriented Poland. So I'm cool with her.
you created ww2 game with muh womyn and prosthetic arm soldiers with katanas
fuck off
>literal fake kidnapped ruler
Peter was killes in Netherlands, the person who returned to Russia and started westernization was a different person
The following civs got in before Portugal:
>Poland
>Scotland
>Georgia
>Scythe
>Khmr
>Indonesia
>Nubia
>Kongo
>Zulu
>Australia
>Maori
>Cree
>Mapuche
And the final nail in the coffin:
>Brazil
Outshone by your own colony that isn't even that important to world history.
And dice can go fuck themselves for it.
How many epileptic 6'8" tall people do the Netherlands have?
Is this some crazy ancient aliens-tier conspiracy theory in Russia? I've never heard about this.
Does not surprise me in any way.
He was a different person, unrecognized even by his wife. He went with 200 people and Menshikov, he returned by himself and only Menshikov at his side
>he SEETHE
our leader was a cunt who did almost jackshit and she was chosen because the game devs needed to fill a female character quota
lmao, only thing i learnt in school about her is that kristina was a catholic traitor that exiled herself to rome, she was probably the worst monarch we ever have had as she accomplished absolutely nothing except putting her based cousin on the swedish throne
more info?
At least Dimitri's wife recognized him.
>the Norwegian Empire
even as a Norwegian nationalist, I'm not delusional enough to claim we had an empire
Why don't they have multiple leader options for countries, it can't take that long to create.
Pisses me off I can be Isabella of Spain and ruthlessly spread Catholicism.
He had a grand library under the Cremlin, it was like his priceless artifact. And only him and his wife knew about it. When he returned he asked his wife to SHOW HIM his library, because he “forgot” where is it. She didn’t show him and he started ordering digging around Cremlin, while “his” wife laughed at him. He didn’t find it in the end.
>gain culture by murdering
how?
>Didn't she do literally nothing and die in her twenties?
she died early, but she did a lot in that time. she created Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, which was the state where we were the most prosperous in history. but reestablishing Jagiellonian University was propably the most important. it's one of the oldest universities in Europe, and it functions to this day. I'm proud to be it's student.
Didn't Harald Hardrada do a bunch of stuff?
>peter
wow so original...
>Why don't they have multiple leader options for countries
they used to have that in IV, i don't know why they don't do it again
(you could also be stalin lmao)
He invaded us and died.
Do you want the alternative?
probably just a copy-paste of the aztec bonus from civ v
We all know the real alternative is Ekatarine.
Also Pushin and Dumas are the same person, Dantes didn’t kill him in the duel, Pushkin just fled to France and at that same time Dumas SUDDENLY started publishing great works. That’s because before Pushkin’s deal “Dumas” was used as a pseudonym for novice writers with no name, just to get their works published
so he was literally killed and his personility was taken over by a body doubly. thats some capeshit-tier shit. never heard about it. really interesting. btw what books would you recommend to someone who wants to learn history of Russia? I don't know much, but I'd like to learn.
he was a varagian
he invaded england and got rekt
only things i can remember
yes but that doesn't mean we had an empire
yes
>no celts so now we're not in it
darn
at one point, we did have one (by definition)
definitly not something you would associatie with the word "empire", but it was something
he finished the unification of norway, but it was his grandson who started properly seizing oversea settlements, such as the kingdom of the isles
would be cool if they added some rurikid princes
yes
Queen Victoria
OG christcuck scandi.
even stalin would be more orinigal (however he was in civ4)
I dont know, there has been a lot of intresting leaders during thousand years of history of Russia, but Russia is always presented by Peter I and Catherine II
that's boring
who do you want to see as a russian leader?
Yeah like Rurik the finn.
Every time you kill an enemy unit, you gain the culture resource. It's actually a very good bonus.
>she created Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth
She was married off against her will at very young age under the nobility's pressure. Hardly her achievement.
Not gonna deny her reputation as a philanthropist and patron of learning though.
Catherine fulfills a useful role as your only important female leader, and Peter is the only other pre-communist Russian leader Western people know besides Nicholas II.
some rulers of Tsardom of Muscovy or Kievan Rus
>Western people know besides Nicholas II.
what about Ivan IV aka Ivan the Terrible?
IrrelevanTUGAL
there are no sources as to why she broke off her engagement and decided to marry Jagiełło instead. your comment about being pressured smells of revisionism. in the end, the decision was hers.
poor Portugal
>Arabia
>Saladin
wasnt Saladin a Kurd
Russian leaders Western people know and what they did:
>Ivan the Terrible: Name known, no details, get him mixed up with Vlad the Impaler
>Peter the Great: The dude who modernized Russia
>Nicholas II: The dude who accidentally caused communism
>Lenin: The dude who intentionally caused communism
>Stalin: The dude who was slightly less evil than Hitler
>Kruschev: The dude who was in charge when Kennedy died
>Gorbachev: The dude who ended communism
>Yeltsin: The drunk guy
>Putin: The current guy
Forgot Catherine, she's known for fucking a horse.
no brezhnev?
Yes, clearly she made a conscious political choice at the age of 12.
Literally every single history book out there stresses the bickering about the betrothal among the nobility. The nobles goddamn voted on the marriage proposal. Fucking Długosz writes about them chasing the Habsburg off. Chronicles are always filled with colorized anecdotes but they do show the overall attitude and situation.
>she's known for fucking a horse
almost laughed
A Western person would know the name but nothing else.
based
but Lenin is dead
>not andrew jackson
no
But as far as our presidents go Roosevelt wasn't half bad. at least it's not barack hussein obama
I didn't even hear about harald hardråde before he got into civ 6. but he's pretty chill in the game. if you just ignore the fact that navies are a joke in civ 6, then the bonuses are pretty cool and all work together. except for berserkers, even after the buff you might as well use knights instead.
...
>ancient aliens-tier conspiracy theory
Actually, there are so many of them in Russia.
Yeah but she's a cutie and if I destroy Russia she seduces me.
I always wondered why is Ivan the Great so ignored? He basically laid foundation for the Russian state.
he's almost unknown even in Russia
Well, the single relevant thing that Portugal did on it's history was the creation of Brazil.
Fuck off apecuck, Portugal is a million times better than your anarchy trannie jungle
>t. Alberto Barbosa
Drop the proxy, tuga safado
>>And the final nail in the coffin:
>>Brazil
I don't think anyone minds that. It's much more insulting to have Phillip II of Spain there.
Brazil deserves to be there if only for the badass Chega de Saudade version from Civ 4
No, they should've used pic related or Cromwell.
they should have used Guillaume le Conquérant, greatest english king in existence
>Aliénor d'Aquitaine
>leader of either France or England
That's a massive poker face from me.
You mean Guillaume the Bastard.
>You're proxy
Nope, I am a norsk okse
We had mods for Kekkonen, Mannerheim and Finnic agent Putin in god tier Civ 5
Coastal raiding is sadly useless now that you can easily build non-coastal cities.
