What happens in the island known as Long Island?

A friend of mine has family there where he goes to every summer it looks like paradise. They all have boats too and are rich as hell.

Are they recent immigrants to the US?

I think it's his uncle who must've left maybe 25 years ago.

Im from there, the largest county at the end, Suffolk. Not many blacks, a lot of central americans but they’re segregated to their own areas. They’re growing and white people are being priced out of living here. Houses are millions for nothing nowhere near anything its absurd

I thought the ones that did the pricing out whats whites themselves. How can you get priced out by Central Americans? How do they even get there?

Also, since you're from there, how relevant is NYC to your daily life?

I live in Nassau, a Jew right in the heart of Jewville.

It's mostly Italians, Jews and Hispanics. Pretty nice. Houses start at like 350k. You've got the gays going to Fire Island, the rich WASPs at the Hamptons, and Queens/Brooklyn is everybody else. Not cheap to own property there, despite all the poor people. As the city has become priced beyond measure, people have been moving out to New Joisey and Longuyland.

In Montauk there are some old WW2 bunkers built in the event the German fleet showed up offshore. Also, the Tesla Museum is supposedly somewhere near Brookhaven.

Ah i phrased it wrong. It’s extremely segregated my town is all white and asian but fifteen minutes from me is all black. You’re options are to be priced out by old white people or live in actual slums of central americans.

I'm From Nassau, In a little-known town called Westbury, which can be basically split into 3 areas. The Northern Area Which is centered around a high middle class housing, with a good mix of Whites and Blacks. Overall good neighborhood. The Center region, around prospect avenue is the run-down hood area the town, a lot of poor blacks and Hispanics and the southern area is again, middle class suburbia with mostly white people. Education system is sub-par in the north and center, But overall a good place to Live. Also, the very very rich white people live in "Old Westbury" which is pretty rural millionaire estates.

Just looked it on Google Maps. Doesn't look that small desu, seems like it's pretty much contiguous with the rest of suburbia around.

Old Westbury does indeed seem like the kind of place rich people live, though with all the greenery and stuff.

What type of Hispanics live there? Dominicans?
