Had quite the time at summer camp

sat at home and waited until it was over

one got lost in the war, another avoided going to it and only got imprisoned

Killed fascist dogs

my guy

Nothing really

One was blind, another was German and couldn't be trusted or something. This is all I've ever been told.

Grandfather was a Ukrainian engineer that got moved to Ural during German advance, spent rest of the war working in a plane factory there.
Grandma's village got torched by Germans and it's denizens taken as involuntary labourers, but she and her remaining family (mother and sister) ran away from the convoy that was moving them to Germany, spent a few weeks hiding in the forest, was rescued by the red army and evacuated to Ural.

killed turks

Sat at home and waited till it was over

Grandpa was a tankist, greatgrandpa was a scout and lost his right leg, another greatgrandpa died in Crimea, and one more greatgrandpa fought during the Winter War but got injured so he had to work in the rear like the rest of my family

one side killed nazi fags and the other side killed jap imperialists, both air force
good guys all around.

My great grandpa (Russian) was an engineer and tank operator and he fought in the Summer canpaign of 1942

Great-grandfather died in the first battle.
Great-grandmother and 12 kids were hiding in the cellar near Krasnodar for months. Only 5 kids survived, one of them was my grandmother.

Some killed Germans and Greek collaborators others killed Germans and Greek commies and they all died childless and half-mad.At least the second arranged their nephews to enter the police

my grandparents are irish, ireland was neutral, so nothing

Men fought in war, against two sides - Germans and Japs, women worked in evacuation. Usual destiny in whole ex-USSR.

Grandpa fought in the infantry, grandma volunteered for the Lotta auxiliaries. Neither liked to talk about those times. Whatever they did and witnessed made them both very bitter and loveless people.

Some guy was a minor revolutionary war fighter or something, someone in the Civil War too.

Navy

Killed the nips mate, true blue aussie tradition over here.
My grandpa was a farmer in the middle of Sicily during WW2, the police would bring him to be conscripted but he kept on running away until he was caught and made to join. Eventually when they got him to the barracks he would do shit like throw his shoes at his Instructor and pretend to be insane so they wouldn't let him join. I mean good call looking at how fucking horrendous Italy did during the war he probably saved himself from starving in the Urals of Russia, I just wish he would have brought back some cool stories. Oh yeah and his brother was a Partizan who would reveal villages in which Germans stayed to the Americans.
