It's alright.
it's cold
it's dark
it's a mix bag, but they are mostly cold and distant
What regions are you from, lads?
Btw. I go to work on a bicycle when it's -10. I don't complain about cold much.
It's gods country
It's like ten thousand spoons when all you need is a knife
It doesn't get -10 in most of the UK
yorkshire
Philosophical. Is it a pun on the knife ban?
Yeah, neither it does in the Benelux, so it's OK
What would you say is the most quintessential feature of Yorkshite? Meme answer and non-meme answer please.
What would you say is the most quintessential feature of Yorkshite?
>Yorkshite
Lol I hope that's a typo
Anyway, I'd say old men with funny accents in flat caps, rolling green hills and stone-clad cottages
Though urban Yorkshire doesn't really live up to that ideal, unfortunately
>Everyone in my family has been to the UK to see the pom side of the family.
I haven't gone because my mum thinks I wont be able to cope.
I hope I don't die before I get to set foot on Albion.
Alright countryside
Holy fuck that's a typo
Didn't even notice it, R and T are next to each other keyboard.
So it seems that rural areas are most promising for a tourist?
It's extremely far away from you, Lachlan, though
What's with the colours on their backs?
I miss Devon lads.
some of those sheep vote Labour, some vote Conservative
This looks lovely. I just bought a high end camera and I'd love to try it out in a place like that.
Dirty
Grey
Old
I love those. Post more cool landscape photos
If you like beaches and comfy villages Dorset is right next to Devon and worth a look too.
Yes, it's pleasant. York is definitely worth visiting as well, it's a lovely city, as well as Scarborough and Harrogate. Hull might be worth visiting too, it has a poor reputation but it's improved recently and has a nice old town. There's also Leeds and Sheffield, they're the bigger cities and they're alright, despite their size though there's not that much to do in either of them so I wouldn't stick around long
I've been to England this summer (Newbury and surroundings) to visit my friend who lives there, it was OK
Then I went to London, it was the worst place I've ever been to
For photography's sake I suppose this would be a great place, except the weather which may be tricky as everywhere. What about moving across the country? Do I need a car? Do you have buses, marshrutkas, hitchhiking
I don't want to go to UK to work, I want to just travel and sightsee. Few usually have something against that
Also, story time pls?
Metropolitan cities are all just grey blurs no matter the country desu.
>Do I need a car?
If you want to go to rural places then yes, public transport isn't very good outside of London
Bath is great too if you can put up with the extrmely grating accent.
50% of the country belong to these, 10% is great and 90% slav-tier, like most of Europe
Good parts and bad parts...
Bath and Hull. I know I shouldn't be laughing considering my flag, but names of these places are make me smile
>50% of the country belong to these,
Clouds?
Flags poles?
Rope?
Bath is named for it's famous Roman baths.
Hull is named for it's ship building yards.
We're not very vreative.
...
>Also, story time pls?
I don't have anything to say actually, England seems to be the most boring place imaginable and London is a hellhole. I've been there for 6 days total and already wanted to go back. Hanging out with my mate was the only highlight of my trip. It's just not a good place for a tourist.
On the other hand, except England this year I've visited Portugal, Sweden and Georgia. Any of those were much more exciting to visit, and I greatly recommend you to go anywhere but England
Ignore hostilefags, this is a comfy thread.
Well, makes sense.
I mean we have a city called Łódź which literally means "boat"...
I've been to Georgia and can confirm it's insane for a tourist.
Well, I'm the type of guy that gets excited by tundra and grasslands and such. I've been to Siberia, Kazakhstan, and in Romania I was melting from joy in grassy mountains.
So I don't mind a bit of traditionally understood boredom tbqhwuf
I was actually thinking about going to Kazakhstan next year since I want to see endless Asian steppes, but is there enough stuff to do or see for 2 weeks or so?
I've been for 3. There is if you know what you're doing, if you have friends with you and among locals, and most importantly, if you have a car.
Kz is no small deal of a country. From the oldest and biggest spaceport in the world by the Caspian sea through endless, wild steppes up to the frigid peaks of Tian-Shan it's an insane place, still half-wild, not as civilised like Poland or the titular UK. And at the same time, it has megamodern cities better than ours. Huh.
>yorkshire tea
What's wrong about Yorkshire tea?
>I've never been in the UK.
I love London, amazing city. But UK's true treasure lies in the rural regions. Beautiful countryside, thousands of super cozy villages and towns, and the people there are friendly and charming beyond belief.
He's a nigger so he only drinks coffee.
I'm from Lincolnshire, you guys are good neighbours honestly. Get a load of you lot down our beaches, and your tea is all my house has drank since forever.
Fuck the south, and fuck the midlands.

>shambles
absolute?
>London is shit

>Sweden and Portugal are exciting
you just sound like a shit traveller tbqh
>little shambles
Sums up York quite nicely
This.
Something tells me that I would find more reasons for cheap chuckle at names in a foreign country, should I ever come.
mosques, muslim extremists, chavs, scousers, degeneracy.
Surrey/Kent massive clocking in lads
Knew one person would whip out the "XD" keywords list
>massive clocking in
What does that mean?
He has a big clock
Massive is used by people after the name of a place it basically just means clan i suppose, and clocking in just means checking in, so if I were from london and I were talking to several people from another place I might say "London massive, clocking in"
Mfw I have no way of telling if you're telling the truth or taking advantage of a clueless foreigner
full of Poles
will do
I hear Poles living in the UK are of a different sort than us here.
Also I love those photos
. sounds very plausible. at least clocking in is a standard term when you start your fudge packing shift at a fudge factory, for example

to be fair I only know Polish students and the couple of chavs that went to my secondary school.
The students are decent straightforward sorts, the girls not as hot as I'd hoped from Jow Forums but well styled and very nice as a whole.
the chavs were always committing crimes and anti-social stuff but they weren't so bad. Honestly the only Poles I have disliked are the ones on the internet who seem to have a seething hatred of England and a ungrateful manner - present company notwithstanding obviously.
and thankyou, I am very proud of my home
Poles had turbulent history, they're satiated with blind rage and radiating with distrust. It surfaces online.
I work with the English often, through phone calls mostly. Lovely people with sense of humour no one affords these days
well I'm glad it doesn't surface IRL, I think poles and brits are natural allies in a lot of ways
>I think poles and brits are natural allies in a lot of ways
Yeah, that's why you threw them to the Soviets after WW2 even though you guaranteed for their safety.
Because we had depleted ourselves to contain your (second) chimpout.
Past is past. I respect it, but there's history ahead of us, for us to make.
Your two countries donated insane amounts of money to my country. Helped rebuild it from ruins and thanks to that today I do not eat dirt and have my own borders. Fifteen years ago I would never have thought I'd be able to afford a high end camera...
Now I want to take it for some photography in England. And maybe Germany later on too

Thanks lad, quite like Lincolnshire myself tbqh, even if it is a bit empty
Yep. Go to the Vale of White Horse, Cotswolds, South Downs is my advice.

Noticing some very based lads ITT.

Trains can be pretty good but you need to be smart about ticketing (see about regional rail rangers, and google raileasy split ticketing) so you pay a reasonable price. Bus services vary widely from region to region, but can be pretty poor in many more rural areas. Nothing like Marshrutkas, but Megabus and National Express coaches can be cheap. Hitchhiking? Not done it for years, but possible, I suppose
Lincolnshire isn't the south it's the middle.
Thanks for advice!
What about Scotland, but the way, lads? Highlands and the likes?
Leicestershire is honourary north
>Whip-ma-Whop-ma-Gate is a street in York
>Land Of Green Ginger is a street in Hull
(Several cities have streets called The Shambles. The name indicates they used to be meat markets, shambles referring to the animal entrails you'd find there. Also many old cities have streets called Grape Lane, usually indicating it was a zone of prostitution, as Grape was a cleaned-up version of "Gropecunt"
>almost exactly as far south as Norfolk
>north
Sounds fun. I suppose there's a lot more trivia awaiting there
What about food?
West Highlands is best Highlands. Train ride from Glasgow to Oban or Fort William is mega scenic. Find out about the different varieties of Scotch whisky before you go. Fife coast well worth a visit too.
Ha ha our weak spot. Not quite fair but I'd almost say stick to foreign food...
Our beer, though, can be truly excellent. Almost Belgium-class. Again it pays off to do your research into the different styles, etc. Always worth trying local real ales and/or craft beers wherever you are. And also local ciders or perries in the West Country
Fuck me sideways, I cannot take whisky. It has a lot of prestige around it but I find the taste and smell absolutely foul. But I love another drink, mead. Is it something that Brittons still make?
Train ride to Oban or Fort William sound fantastic. Expensive, I imagine, but probably worth.
>What about food?
Spotted Dick.
Bubble and Squeak.
Pork Faggots.
Toad in the Hole.
>mfw I look each of them separately and they're real things named this exact way
This made my day
They any good btw.?
Train for that journey shouldn't be expensive. I think if you buy tickets in advance (committing you to a specific train) there are bargains to be had
Any Lincolnshire boys here?
Visited family living in north Devon this summer just passed, I was really pleasantly surprised by how green and leafy exmoor was compared to dartmoor, which was my impression of all the nature Devon had to offer. Also surprisingly good beaches and cosy little townships, will definitely go back when I have the chance.
I live in Blackpool. This place is Eastern Europe tier.
>Any Lincolnshire boys here?
I'm from Lincolnshire (Bavaria).
