Why do they pretend to be Western Slavs when they're in actuality closer to their Russian, Ukrainian and Belarusian brothers in the east?

Are we?
In all seriousness I think we're closer to Germans than to Russian, although I have no experience with Russians.
Everything behind our eastern border seem a bit exotic to me.
t.western Pole who lives 50km to Polish/German border.

ebane niemecka kurwa

Poles belong to ethnic group they are german, jewish, russian, lithuanaian mutts

>Russian, Ukrainian and Belarusian

literally who?

i remember some russian junk marchants back in the 90's but thats it.

Half their country was historically part of Germany.

Fuck off. Our friends only China and Finland.

We literally have the same subclades of Y and mitochondrial DNA as other W. Slavs. In fact the rest most likely descends directly from our core migration. According to original origin story Czechs traveled to their current homeland from Kraków.

germany is a p*ussian meme, get over it

Hallo mein preußischer Freund.

Hard question: would you rather have eastern poland back from the russians or "western poland".

Poland -> Bolan -> Borussia --> Russia

Why are Poles ugly like East Slavs but other Slavs are good looking?

Mi smo najblizi vama, Nedeljko

lets see, no p*ussian dagger menace up north, 1/4 of the previous border with the "germany", no ukri savages at the east within our borders-i go for stalins's option

Lwów should be polish because it's really close to our current borders and it wouldn't hurt to include Lwów as well
it was incredibly important city in our history, people of Lwów were very loyal towards Poland, the teenagers who defended Lwów from Ukrainian in 1918 are now legendary
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lwów_Eaglets

after Poland regained Gdańsk in 1945, this city didn't even have an university in it
Lwów had it long before

Crossing the border with Ukraine or Belarus is like hopping on a time machine and going back straight to Poland in late 80s. Getting Lwów alone and trying to renovate it would literally crash Polish economy. All the important natural resources in the former Eastern Poland were already depleted by the Soviets long ago. We invested way too much money and too much work hours in Western Poland. Plus it's a nice and easy to defend border.

Then ask him for the reparations He Took in your Name.

In 1945 every Pole would have rather kept Eastern Poland, but now we have invested too much in western Poland to give it away

Anyway, I wish we'd got these borders in 1918 and WW2 never broke out.

Would be Nice.

too bad he did not take any reparations for the organised demolition of Warsaw

Attached: 1863956749.png (182x254, 34K)

I dont believe they made clean book keeping a priority, think about Stalingrad etc.

> Getting Lwów alone and trying to renovate it would literally crash Polish economy.

lol, it would not, also the EU would help us for sure, especially that Ukrainians would want to join the EU as well

but frankly speaking I wouldn't want to get Lwów with Ukrainians

Why do they consider themselves the Christ of Nations when they are the most evil country in Europe?

long story short, damages resulted by combat (paid and done) are not the same (according to the law) as the organised demolition, therefore the case is still open...

Unfortunately (or then again maybe for the better) you can't change borders when Uncle Sam and UN is watching, especially here in Europe. Annexation of Crimea resulted in ungodly amount of international butthurt and some new sanctions to be levied against Russia and that was when people in Crimea actually wanted to join Russia and had a legitimate referendum for it. Ukrainians in Lwów don't want to be part of Poland so that leaves us with only one option - open war and wars of aggression are verboten now, which would make us an international pariah for starting shit and most likely sanctioned to death.

Because Jesus was a Pole and he did not come to bring peace, but a sword.

>Ukrainians in Lwów don't want to be part of Poland so that leaves us with only one option - open war and wars of aggression are verboten now, which would make us an international pariah for starting shit and most likely sanctioned to death.

And that's good, I don't want any war. Sure, it would be nice to get Lwów back but if war is the price, it's better not to start this shit at all.

Even though I still think it was extremely unfair to take Lwów from Poland in 1945 (Wilno too, but less).

Good luck in the courts I guess. I still believe your government just doesnt have The stones to push the issue with The russians. Also its a political bargaining Chip.

You also squatted on german territory without an ok by the victorious powers, against their Plans. But they were eventually ok with it.

>Danzig wasnt originally planned to change hands.

>Danzig wasnt originally planned to change hands.

I don't know what "originally" means but in 1945 Gdańsk was already assigned to Poland and no one would deny it, the only real issue was Szczecin (and personally I agree it should have stayed in Germany if only Lwów could have remained in Poland).

it's not even the matter of having stones or no, the russians cannot be touched right now, i mean imagine removing this (pic rel) soviet monument out of the heart of berlin right now...

Genetically Poles are closest to Belarusians, then to Ukrainians, and then to Russians. It's true. Czechs and Slovaks are less related to us than East-Slavs.
Also our cuisine like red barszcz, pierogi, żurek and other dishes can be found in the same, or at least similar form, in countries to the east of us, but not in CZ or SK.

But Poles are Catholics, always have been, with all the implications this carries. Closer ties to the church in Rome than to the patriarch Greece or whatever. Marriages of Polish noble houses with French or Italian ones, but not with Russian ones. Universities approved by the pope. Alliances with other Catholic countries. So in this regard we're "western" not "eastern". Religion changes a lot.

We had to sign we wont, desu. While they flattened Königsberg and tried to kill its history and character. Replacing everything with glorious commie shit.

I'd accept 10 million Belarusian immgrants without hesitation RIGHT NOW
and I would also without hesitation order genocide of very russian and ukrainian subhuman that's still "alive".

Don't you ever dare compare us to those subhumans from the east.

The defeated nations (Germans) and smaller countries (Poland) had no say in what the big boys decided to do. Originally Poland wanted to acquire East Prussia, Upper Silesia, Free city of Gdańsk, correct the rest of the western border to its pre-1772 status and keep the eastern border like it was before the outbreak of the war. Something along the black lines on the map.

yes, this is true, the law is the law even if you were made to sign it, it is still valid

I mean marriages with Ruthenian nobility were rather common. We basically brain drained and absorbed the upper classes of the Kievan Rus. For the average peasant Catholic - Orthodox divide was probably too much to overcome and thus rarely married outside of their own group.

These Ruthenian nobles converted to Catholicism, user. The Sapieha family for example originated as an orthodox family. One of their descendants became the catholic bishop of Warsaw.

You almost got away with the first false Dmitry too, who was also a catholic.

I guess so, probably Union of Brest, trying to merge Orthodoxy with Catholicism under the Unite Church and other shenanigans helped too.

>I'd accept 10 million Belarusian immgrants without hesitation RIGHT NOW

I'd rather have ex-yugos, especially Croats

Autism was too strong in the upper echelons of the Polish nobility and thus religious division prevented us from putting a Polish king on the Russian throne. If you think about it, Poland saw the seeds of its own destruction. Duke of Mazovia invited the Teutonic Order of his own violation and allowed the knights to settle in Polish lands. Later on, peasants, nobles and cityfolk alike begged the Polish king to annex Prussia after the Teutons were defeated in the battle of Grunwald but he declined fearing the Kingdom of Poland would get too strong and get the upper hand over Grand Duchy of Lithuania. Austria was toast untill we foolishly agreed to help them in the 17th century and got our ass on the line for them fighting the Turks. Well, woe to the vanquished I guess.

The Austria toast bit, I am unsure about. Your King did very well, Especially in commanding. But 2/3 of the troops were HRE.

Youre an ignoramous. West Slavs are closer related.

*ekhem*

Attached: 1526216852806.png (983x899, 425K)

Before that we provided loans and send "volunteers" to harass the Ottomans all along the Polish-Turkish border. Sure, we didn't win the battle single-handedly but Sobieski was instrumental in brining those HRE princes in line. Those dukes, counts and noblemen were more interested in their own little personal affairs than in defence of Austria. Austria and the rest of HRE would have driven out the Turks eventually. The Ottomans overextended themselves and the Janissaries were getting uppity but a prolonged war would leave both Austria and Hungary devastated, which would be better for us in the long run. Realpolitik is not something we're good at unfortunately. We never were.

You mean Ukrainian Catholic churches?

Agreed, unsure if better though. The turks were mean customers.

Polack who was born in Ukraine here
Fuck E*st Slavs

Attached: Untitled.png (427x377, 17K)

Huh? Why are Lithuanians grouped with us in these meme genetic tests? They're genetically much closer to other Balts and to Finns than to us.

A lot of the groups overlap for some reason, but the fact that I'm 30% Balt on top of that adds to the Lithuanian

Why not take both?

why would you do those tests when it was confirmed that genetic companies add jewish/nigger DNA because muh white supermacists

Yeah, under the conditions of the Union of Brest a number of Orthodox bishops in the region of what is modern Ukraine, Poland and Belarus departed from the Orthodox Church and placed themselves under the Pope in Rome in order to avoid being ruled by the newly established Patriarch of Moscow. They still kept their Orthodox rites and all of that but recognized the Pope as their spiritual leader. In Polish it's called Kościół Greko-Katolicki (Greek-Catholic Church) or Kościół Unitarny (Uniate Church). The union was strongly supported by Polish kings because it gave them way more authority over their Orthodox subjects, but opposed by some Orthodox bishops and Ruthenian nobles and perhaps most importantly by the nascent Cossack movement for their self-rule. Today the Greek-Catholic Church still exists both in Poland and in Ukraine but it is way smaller and way less influential than it once was mostly due to the efforts of the Russian tsars and the Russian Orthodox Church.

Well, France had no qualms about allying itself with the Turks to weaken Austria but then again they didn't have the misfortune to border them. Even in the peace times (and those were few and far between) the Turks and their allies (mostly Tatars and other screamers from the steppes) liked to hop over the border to burn villages, abduct people and generally act like a bunch of niggers but then again we raided them as well. Such were the joys of living in the borderlands between two radically different civilizations, cultures and religions.

Yeah there's like three of them by me. I thought the one was an Orthodox Church for the longest time.

That's 23andMe
Ancestry.com is run by Mormons who collect your DNA because they believe they can use it to prove that you're pure and take you to heaven in the End Times

>they can use it to prove that you're pure and take you to heaven in the End Times
nani? pure in what way?

They think blacks were cursed by god therefore not pure

What happened with ancestry?

Blood lines and ancestry is essential for Mormons not entirely sure why though

*23&me

they confirmed that they were adding non white DNA to the test of whites becasue muh white supremacist we're all the same

Poland is

- 60 % East Slavic
- 40 % West Slavic

t. expert and knower

k

No shit. My dad took one of those test and it came back 1% Spanish. I better have him check which company did it

Poles are decent-looking actually. East Slavs are ugly because of their finngolian heritage.

>Genetically Poles are closest to Belarusians, then to Ukrainians

maybe northwestern Ukrainians. In some regions of Ukraine, people are more related to other Balkans

t. Bob Kowalski

with Polish mother most likely

yeah I agree as a Lithuanian who speaks a bit in Polish and Russian I would say Russian sounds like some brain dead mongoloid language compared to Polish which sounds much more European

remember žečpospolita (Rzeczpospolita) we had a huge culture mixing that's why liturally every Lithuania has some Polish blood

Sarmatian with volksdeutsche heritage. Bow down to me plebs.

that's because russian borrowed lots of words from turkic and ugric languages while polish borrowed from german and latin

Just kill them the way you did when you stole the Lwiw for the first time.

yeah I have to say i agree because Polish at times really does feel like it has a lot of Latin inside it but even Russian words sound better in polish

Now check the clades of R1a, mongo. Czechs are more diluted with local hillfolk, but they literally come from our stock as we share a fresh mutation with them that Belarussians don't share. We are on the same branch as other West Slavs, away from East Slavs.

Genetics is beyond you, don't bother.

>the first time
??????

>they are like us, just extremely diluted
>means they're genetically closer to us than these people we actually share a higher percentage of DNA with
gotcha

Do you understand what a linguistic branch is, dumbass?
Besides, we use Latin script, not Cyrillic, and we're traditionally Catholic, not Orthodox.

>1349

I'd trade Szczecin for Lwów.

?
that doesn't tell me anything

The city in its current form was founded by Kazimierz Wielki, the Polish king, after the previous Ruthenian settlement had been destroyed in a series of wars involving Lithuania. The older, wooden, settlement was rebuilt as well and became a suburb. The city was populated by settlers from Poland and other parts of Europe and built up with Polish funds. Don't call it "stealing", you can't steal something you built. Besides, talking about stealing in a historical context is autistic. You don't steal land, you conquer it.
Technically the first Lvivian settlement was a wooden town populated by Ruthenians, until the area got conquered by Poland in 1349.

>žečpospolita
Cute

Tbh we should just make up our own meme branch likes Slovenes always try to do and call ourselves North Slavs.

Nah, they're insufferable. I don't want to be like them.

During the wars over the succession of Galicia-Volhynia Principality in 1339 King Casimir III of Poland undertook an expedition and conquered Lviv in 1340, burning down the old princely castle.[13] Poland ultimately gained control over Lviv and the adjacent region in 1349. From then on the population was subjected to attempts to both Polonize and Catholicize the population.[21] The Lithuanians ravaged Lviv land in 1351 during the Halych-Volhyn Wars[22] with Lviv being plundered and destroyed by prince Liubartas in 1353.[23][24] Casimir built a new city center (or founded a new town) in a basin, surrounded it by walls, and replaced the wooden palace by masonry castle – one of the two built by him.[13][25][26] The old (Ruthenian) settlement, after it had been rebuilt, became known as the Krakovian Suburb.[25]

In 1356 Casimir brought in more Germans and within seven years granted the Magdeburg rights which implied that all city matters were to be resolved by a council elected by the wealthy citizens. The city council seal of the 14th century stated: S(igillum): Civitatis Lembvrgensis. In 1358 the city became a seat of Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Lviv, which initiated spread of Latin Church onto the Ruthenian lands.

The rulers of Poland brought Germans and Czechs into the town and Polonized them

Germans, yes, but how did you come up with Czechs?

>Named in honor of Leo, the eldest son of Daniel, King of Ruthenia, it was the capital of the Kingdom of Galicia–Volhynia (also called the Kingdom of Ruthenia) from 1272 to 1349, when it was conquered by King Casimir III the Great who then became known as the King of Poland and Ruthenia. ttps://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lviv

And?

The city's prosperity during the following centuries is owed to the trade privileges granted to it by Casimir, Queen Jadwiga and the subsequent Polish monarchs.[13] Germans, Poles and Czechs formed the largest groups of newcomers. Most of the settlers were polonised by the end of the 15th century, and the city became a Polish island surrounded by Orthodox Ruthenian population.[27]

The Czechs were all over the place during that time. Königsberg was named after a Czech king who lead a crusade or something into the area

They should call themselves West Slavs really, their language is closer to other West Slavic languages than it is to Serbo-Croatian. Besides, up to around 8th century when Franks conquered the slavic people living in what is now Austria, Carantanians (Slovenians) were very much in contact with other West Slavs. Of course the line between Slovenians and Croats starts to blur in certain areas. There's a reason why Horvat is a very popular Slovenian surname.

Nothing. This is just our city, which was under occupation for several centuries. Come visit, sweet.

>disregard actual lineage of a culture
>would rather stare at pie charts he doesn't even understand and pretend R descended populations vary enough to prioritize genetics over historical proximity

You missed the part where I tell you the markers you consider are literally not the same, just grouped under an umbrella classification?

Is this actually what your media tell you over there? I get that you're at war and everything, but even then some critical thinking would do you good.

I guess you should return southern Ukraine to either Greece or the Tatars then, since it was populated for Pontic Greeks and Tatars for much longer than by actual Ukrainians. So it is originally Greek/Tatar land. Give back what you stole, you criminals. And while we're at it, we should return Cologne to Italy, because it was founded by Romans.

Stop listening to propaganda, you stupid Hohoł.

Well, the Greeks and Tatars can live in peace on this land. We do not destroy their religion, we do not take away land from them, we do not hang signs on the trams: "no dogs and Tatars / Greeks are allowed to enter." We are not Poles.

No, that city belongs to Poland you hohol subhuman.
