Be smoker for 4 years

>be smoker for 4 years
>decide I don't want to smoke anymore
>feel little cravings, only when drinking I still light some up
could be worse.

>be me five years ago
>16 years old
>friends with a super hot girl from my year
>she smokes like crazy
>i always bum one off her whenever im with her
>do it solely so she doesn't think im a nerd
teenage me was dumb

I started smoking because my 4 years younger gf smoked.

I had been a smoker for 5 years and quit cold turkey. The cravings diminish in frequency as time goes on. First few days it's quite often (I smoked every ~45 minutes so I had cravings most of those times), but it gradually decreases in frequency and the craving goes away when your body realizes the hit is not coming (usually 5 minutes or less). Just get chewing gum to distract yourself.

Eventually the cravings become infrequent and mostly the desire for tobacco goes away, you just find that you need to take a break to pace around the room or check the fridge every so often. Finally after a year or so I was more or less completely normal again, with the occasional dream of lighting up at worst. I would suggest not smoking at all, even when drinking, because that maintains the nicotine association in your brain and increases the likelihood of relapse. Most of my friends who tried to quit ended up relapsing after smoking at a party, some of them many times.

Was on the same boat as you, but then I quit altogether. Mostly because I was trying to show myself from my best side to a woman, which turned me down.

But hey, I haven't smoked in over 2 weeks.
Thanks for reading my blog post btw.

Never smoked and never will

>only when drinking I still light some up
same here. Why does drinking make you want cigarettes more? I swear they even taste nicer
good. it's an awful habit

No point in trying. It's expensive and you will fuck up your airways. I didn't realize how shitty my pulminary health had become until I quit. Was getting really bad cough twice a year from minor cold. Haven't had cough since I quit (now I just get a blocked nose if I catch cold).

i "smoke" a cig everyday because it allows me to chill on my balcony for a while

How long have you been keeping it up? Smoking has a nasty habit of progressing in you.

why is smoke in quotes
do you eat it?

Same shit.

I smoked for 5-6 years. I quit very successfully using the patch. Nothing else worked for me; with a patch it was surprisingly easy.

That’s because you still get all the nicotine you want, but it centers around losing the physical habit. I think anyone can go 3 days without smoking and lose the nicotine addiction, but the act of lighting up is harder to beat.

This.

Actually learning to drink without smoking is really nice.

smoking once a day barely qualifies as smoking here, or anywhere in the world probably

it's been a few years now, i'm very careful never to go above 2 cigs a day. I also like to take breaks for a few days because once i start again the nicotin hit is very pleasant

Tbh i think the may reason i don't get addicted is that i don't like smoking that much, it's on the bottoms of my needs

>not smoking
Enjoy not having any friends at work

How much did you smoke?

I've smoked since 2005 and don't really know what life would be without it. I did take a 2 week break once but then I had some alcohol and started at it again so I can't really say I never tried to quit

More like
>enjoy everyone else at work getting additional 2 hours of break time because they just have to smoke, while you get scolded for using your legit break time

I smoked 1 pack of cigs as a teen, but didn't feel anything particular so I never did it again.
On the other hand I had to stop drinking coffee because of complications and it was painful. My mornings have been dreadful ever since.

>his coworkers smoke
how does it feel being a prole?

Been smoking for 6 years. On and off for the last year. The first time you give them up is the worst. I feel like I could give them up tomorrow relatively easily. I tend to relapse when drinking, and because most people I know smoke.

Enjoy life without troubles with health and healthy lungs.

Smoking is sacred
