How do I become a farmer in Russia? Gene-edited babies mean it's over for us non-edited humans. 300+ IQ humans are incoming and it's legit fucking over for us.

they want be adults for 18+ years. you'll be middle aged by the time you have to worry about it
I'm quitting school and working full time to secure resources. There's no way to compete with 300 IQ humans.
Also they'll be super intelligent far before 18 years old. However I estimate it'll take 10-20 years to identify intelligence SNPs and for gene-editing tech to become reliable enough to edit thousands of SNPs. There's already a very accurate model for height prediction based on 10k SNPs. The optimized genotype would result in a height of 15 feet, which is equal to roughly 36 SDs. This would be equivalent to a 540 IQ.
>believing changs
It's fucking over youtube.com
Why do scientists take him serious? He provided zero evidence.
I don't think they learned yet that fraud is not too uncommon in science.
The genetic connection to IQ is sitll very unknown and remains extremely complicated. Any gene modified children will for now just be to avoid disease, the next step will be apperance. Intelligence will not be on the table for many years to come.
Even if they're lying they'll accomplish it in a few years anyway
this kind of research is de facto banned in the west because of the racist implications
See Genetic architecture of IQ is similar to that of height, according to the author. We can already predict height reliably from genome alone. biorxiv.org
People have started publicly questioning it because of the lack of evidence and difficulties in the process.

a 540 IQ human would probably be like a 15 feet one and die at the age of 7
Imagine they would breed a 130 IQ strong bodied healthy worker that questions nothing.
I think this is a more realistic goal and industrialists would push to replace all non modified humans.
Local people should come with torches and pitchforks, sending the whole lab ablaze for the sake of mankind.
>How do I become a farmer in Russia?
Ask this American guy who a farmer in Siberia.
There's no telling what the intelligence ceiling is, but it will at the very least be possible reliably recreate Newton/Gauss/Von Neumann tier intellects, and possibly even intellects that are to Gauss as Gauss is to us.
>Then the population SD for the trait corresponds to an excess of roughly
N^(1/2)vpositivevalleles (for simplicity we suppress dependence on minor allele frequency). A genius like vonvNeumann might be +6 SD, so would have roughly 6N^(1/2) more positive alleles than the average
person (e.g.,∼600 extra positive alleles if N = 10k). But there are roughly +N^(1/2) SDs in phenotype (∼100 SDs in the case N ∼ 10k) to be had by an individual who has essentially
all of the N positive alleles! As long as N^(1/2) >> 6, there is ample extant variation for selection to act on to produce a type superior to any that has existed before. The probability of producing a "maximal type" through random breeding is exponentially small in N
, and the historical human population is insufficient to have made this likely.
The content of this basic calculation underlies the work of animal and plant breeders. As
leading population geneticist James Crow of Wisconsin wrote [14]:
The most extensive selection experiment, at least the one that has continued for
the longest time, is the selection for oil and protein content in maize (Dudley
2007). These experiments began near the end of the nineteenth century and still
continue; there are now more than 100 generations of selection. Remarkably,
selection for high oil content and similarly, but less strikingly, selection for high
protein, continue to make progress. There seems to be no diminishing of selectable
variance in the population. The effect of selection is enormous: the difference in
oil content between the high and
Human limit is about 7 feet or so, then it can't stand/walk because too heavy.
When those babies arive Russia should be the last place you'll want to be together with China. They'll both spam them as much as they can to stand a chance against the West
You do realize that the relation between genotype and phenotype can be very complicated right? In particular when it comes to high-level functions like intelligence and the like. So it is highly unlikely that there is only a few genes that control something like intelligence. Also, such genes typically affect much more than just one particular trait, manipulating these genes will most likely result in severe disability and will in most cases be incompatible with life. You would need to understand the network and dynamics underlying the interplay between genes and the organism before even trying to manipulate such complex body functions.

It's estimated that there are roughly 10k SNPs that control intelligence. Soon an accurate model like biorxiv.org
yeah, definitely
you want a picture of the future, imagine a childs foot stamping on a baseline human forever (or at least until the supergenius generation grows up and the baseline humans die out lmao)
but at least they might use the IQ boost and what empathy they have for their progenitors to figure out how to enhance the IQ of already existing people so we don't get turned into pets or glue lol
>implying the first million lab grown "super iq" humans won't all turn into balls of cancer or something worse in less than 10 years.
Ya na.
Gonna be a wild ride my man, watch the shitshow.
don't be so quick to believe the chinks
they are notorious for being liars and cheats, especially in the field of science
You are delusional.
