All the Nordic nations combined amount to a population less than Canada. A stand-alone nordic alliance provides no more geopolitical leverage than those countries individually already have. While a modern nordic union would struggle today until we got our footing, in the past we have been robbed the opportunity to unify by nervous and jealous brits and continentals.
Countries like Germany, a result of many smaller states banding together, are strong and relevant today.

Of course it's outrageous, the opinions harboured by SD members are completely and utterly irrelevant to the topic since it's a case of press ethics and democracy.
