Native English speakers, how does it feel to browse this website where foreigners talk in English but the language is sometimes or even often messed up by them?
I wouldn’t habitually browse a website where foreigners talk in terrible Japanese

I noticed that when a conversation takes place between 2 native speakers here, they speak more refined and native-like English
>hehe you don't have superfluous "U's" in your words, how simple! i truly favour this superior way of typing
You've never seen two Australians talk to each other then huh
Much of English such as AAVE and London(?) speech is based on people struggling to speak normal English and finding their own solutions.
What are you even talking about? Most if not almost all foreign posters use virtually perfect English, almost indistinguishable from natives.
The only ones with truly horrible English are you japs and gooks.
Also t. Private Smith in Okinawa.
Except no one from the English world would speak like you just did. You have to dig deeper than mere grammar, it has to be in your soul. You must fight for democracy in order to understand the soul of English.
shit go kys
everyone I work with is a foreigner that hardly speaks English. I don't care about it.
Language is just a tool
To be more specific:
>Most if not almost all
Would not be said, it can only be 'all' in this case, not 'almost all'. So this is definitely not
>virtually perfect English, almost indistinguishable from natives.
perfect english is trying too hard. to master english one must be proficient in slang
>almost all foreign posters use virtually perfect English
I often see non-natives speak English, which is heavily influenced on by the language of their own. I’m not a native English speaker, but it’s still noticeable.
It is grammatically perfect but may sound kinda weird to the native
Would not They it feel cute? I did not think it was awful or retarded when I saw the Koreaboos, which uses wrong spelling and grammatical Hangul on YouTube, but I felt it cute.
this is why europeans are good at typing english but suck at speaking it
Almost every language is easier to write than to speak. You have time to review your mistakes or look shit up, when your put on the spot you just get fucked a lot of the time.
Thank you, I feel truly enlightened. However OP is without a doubt wrong when he says that "foreigners talk in English but the language is sometimes or even often messed up by them." It's rare to see people write in broken english here as far as I know.

t. hapa private Smith who's looking forward to seeing his girlfriend's son living in Busan
He is wrong by the way. There are subtle differences that Europeans will use compared to native Anglo speakers. It’s not that they grammatically incorrect so much as there is a frequency to use words or sentence structures a native would not use.
To answer your question I think it is fun to see foreigners converse in English because some stereotypes really are true. Japanese posters in particular are terrible with English, assuming they aren’t some English teacher or a jack ass on a proxy. The French are surprisingly well versed in English but they and the Germans tend to apply a sentence structure rooted in their own language. I’m most impressed by the Russians. Koreans sound crazy which validates our general perceptions of Korean people being a little touched.
Yep, speaking the language is a real challenge for most, compared to the relatively ease at which non-natives can learn to write in English
Btw I can't imagine the visions of hell that come with living in a general-dubbing cunt.
I'd have offed myself a long time ago if the broadcasters didn't allow me to watch a movie in the way it was originally meant to be watched in.
I've never even thought about those differences before, wow.
Gib opinions on the Dutch pl0x
>I'd have offed myself a long time ago if the broadcasters didn't allow me to watch a movie in the way it was originally meant to be watched in.
Oy vey what would you do without Hollywood propaganda in its original format!
Yeah it could be cute, but you need to take more pains in understanding what they were trying to say than when you talk with your countrymen
Makes me not want to go to such websites, especially if you discuss serious matters like politics
>Thank you, I feel truly enlightened.
No problem. But to continue, I'm not sure if "most if not almost all" is really improper English, rather, it makes it seem as though 'most' is like 80% and 'almost all' is like 95%, but it's not perceived that way, it would be perceived as synonymous. So I just don't think people would say that here. Maybe "most if not nearly all" would be used sometimes, as it suggests being just on the edge of 'all' which 'almost' doesn't, since as I said the word most is almost 'almost'. I don't know, just consider it.
>However OP is without a doubt wrong when he says that "foreigners talk in English but the language is sometimes or even often messed up by them." It's rare to see people write in broken english here as far as I know.
I see. I've seen it several times, though. Maybe as a joke. It is sort of rare considering other parts of the Internet.
English is a shit language and anyone who speaks it should be ashamed of himself.
This guy is the most terrible speaker.
To be honest with you there aren’t many Dutch posters so it’s hard to judge. But of all the continental Europeans I’ve engaged with in person it was always the Dutch with the best spoken English even if you have a faint accent. You guys come off sounding like a German with really, really well spoken English and because Germans’ accent immediately identifies them as such by order of cancellation I know I’m speaking to someone from Holland.
This is why people in your country and my country can not speak English well. We do not live in an English speaking country and our official language is not English. You do not need to speak perfect English while using English instead of our native language. Because we are too much kind to Westerners in this way that they live in South Korea and Japan for years, but they speak pretty low level Korean and Japanese. We do not need to favor them.
English is a trash bin of foreign languages. I’m actually surprised any non-native speaker can pick it up. We borrowe words from French, German, Latin and sometimes even Spanish. I honestly don’t blame Asian people for having difficulty with the language because it’s so stupidly complex with a bunch of nonsensical grammar rules. I can read/mandarin for instance and apart from the heavy use of idioms Chinese makes waaaaay more sense from a syntax and sentence structure point of view.
they're used to it since not even native anglo speakers speak it good
Russians are pretty bad too. I also don't mind. I think English is too widespread and varied to worry about it being perfect. How can I be concerned with it when native speakers fro! places.like.Irelan, India, and the Philippines sound so off to me. I also know that you these people speak better English than I do their language, wo I can't bash them.
>Philippines
I meant Jamaica. Just woke up five minutes ago, so my mind isn't exactly clear.yet.
If native speakers only knew how imprecise English language really is, it's hard to grasp a language by which you can't express your exact thoughts, as trilingual I never had a problem with my second language which is German though I guess it's dependent on individual priorities
your shithole already speaks dumbed down english
Wrong. That only affects listening comprehension. People dont normally talk to the tv.
Isn't it like the middle of the night/ 5o' clock there right now?
Why would you hurt yourself with waking up so early
>Koreans sound crazy which validates our general perceptions of Korean people being a little touched.
Genuinely curious but how?
>stupidly complex
>born in an english speaking cunt
>proud of being an english speaker
pathetic losers
I have to get ready for work in ten minutes. Also, the typos came from tired phoneposting.
You guys have the luxury of living in nation-states where interacting with foreigners is still a novelty, it seems. Speaking as a Leaf in a MultiKulti shithole, I can tell you it gets very tiresome, very quickly, and it is most certainly not "cute."
We're particularly flooded with Chinese students where I live, and it's a real nuisance. About half of my university class is Chinese, and this week we've been having group presentations in one of my classes. Imagine sitting through presentation after presentation of Chinese people who you literally cannot understand, reading off of pieces of paper with plagarized Chinese textbooks run through Google Translate, struggling through words they are supposed to have written but have no idea how to pronounce.
We also have a lot of "temporary foreign workers" in the country working service jobs, so you run into them a lot working the cash register at fast food places and cafés. One time I was trying to get breakfast at a coffee shop, and the Chinese cashier couldn't understand me so it was impossible for me to put my order in. She put me on the phone with the Chinese owner of the shop, who also couldn't understand me. I ended up leaving the shop empty-handed because of language difficulties. This wasn't in some Chinatown or something, but rather just down the street in my neighbourhood.
Canada is really far gone. My only remaining hope for this godforsaken country is that we get so many foreigners entering the country that society can't function anymore whatsoever, it turns into a real crisis that can no longer be ignored, and there's no choice but to kick them all out.
Anyway, it's not cute.
Why would I get mad over non-English speakers not having perfect English?
It's not their native tongue.
Don’t listen to this guy
Is German any better? Honest question.
We few... we happy few... we band of brothers.
Most people here speak good English other than Japanese and Koreans.
sometimes I intentionally spell things wrong and demand to know what words mean for (yous)
Come on man you have to admit you guys are weird. An entire nation that takes off a work day for a standardized test? Cram schools for teenagers that stretch to midnight? Bans on pornography? The highest level of Christian faith in Asia (and a weird one that emphasizes the rapture)? K-pop? Weird hatred of the Japanese despite that you’re basically Japan 2.0?
“Speak English well”
t. Chinese Hongcouverite
I think there's also the fact that even if it is broken and awkward, your main point will come across with English, unless you absolutely butcher it like Asians do, whereas that might not be the case with other languages that need stricter adherence to rules and structure
deport all chinks in leafland make canada white again
Oh I thought you were saying our English sounds crazy.
English is a silly language. Should have learned Spanish instead.
It's a stupid language with subjects direct objects predicates onomatapeia bullshit the only easy thing about it is the alphabet.

Thank you for the compliment. Your image file is well decided upon.

There is no apostrophe needed for simple plural.
it's true though, always writing/speaking textbook english isn't something a native speaker would do. when you can code switch flawlessly you can start calling yourself proficient. until then you're just a nigger
>I’m most impressed by the Russians
why
>you must fight for democracy
Says the country with a retarded 2 party system that fucks you in the ass no matter who you vote for. I'm not saying other democracies are a lot better, but your system makes the retardation so obvious.
Your language is very hard. Words with ten meaning. I can't remember verb tenses, i use translator and more. You are lucky, that your native language is most useful and popular.
it is not. by no means could i speak fluent english, but is hasn't been that hard to reach my current medium level. I have never even studied properly, just constant reading practice.

Hey, nobody is expecting you to be a great english orator. We appreciate when foreigners try to speak proper english - but i can understand you just fine. Just start by watching more films and shows in english.
I basically helped my ukranian friend learn advanced english from age 11 - 16, after that it was mostly him messing up very complex phrases and long, unneccesarily complicated words. He currently speaks at or just under my level of proficiency

This. We basically copied their circus of a political system and further modified it but still essentially the same system
Thats why both Duterte and Trump got elected
In fact, I am 100% sure if Duterte ran the same campaign in America he would be president right now.
American politics is the biggest, most cancerous circus in the world
