I'm currently banging my head trying to use Vroid Studio.
It's a Unity program, so it has problems with memory leaks.
A bigger problem is the way hair is modeled. You can either draw it on tablet-style or use the procedural system built in. The problem with this is that you have to use a spline mesh cage to manipulate it which means that if your character has long hair, tweaking it so that it falls over the body in a natural manner without clipping is an exercise in madness.
Honestly this is probably my fault more than the program's, you're supposed to use the pen tool for these cases but I just don't feel comfortable enough with my artistic skills to do that.
