Why wouldn't it? If nerve agent X has an extraordinarily high LD50, then you disperse it as is. If the nerve agent smells, anything additional you add to mask it takes away from the potency. Same with color, although I'd imagine that clearly visible poison gas would be undesirable in a military agent since humans have a much better sense of sight than they do taste/smell. But that might only amplify it's psychological effects

Are you being retarded on purpose? The greatest advantage of any chemical weapon is its psychological effect. It's a horrifying death and no one wants to endure it, but it's not terribly effective as a weapon, since there are these cool things call gas masks and NBC suits.

So you claim that gas' primary advantage is its lethality, instead of psychological, which I've just disproven. Since in WWI when they didn't even have gas masks for half the war, gas deaths were only 7% of casualties compared to gas injuries.
