I hate it because my ricewagon absolutely stops working when it goes below zero.
I accidentally opened the passenger door earlier today when I went shopping and holy fuck, it took me 15 minutes to get the door to stay shut again.

Last winter my central locking mechanism stopped working so when I unlocked the doors they would instantly unlock and then lock again. It'd repeat until I disconnected the battery.
Pretty funny to pop the hood open 6 times a day just to disconnect and reconnect a battery.

how often does that happen anywhere with actual civilization though? I've only felt 0º and thought it was too much, so I can't even imagine anything below that. I wish where I live was a little cooler, but I don't think I'd take snow-ish weather if I ever had to deal with anything far below 0º

At dry air and no wind -20 doesn't feel that hard.
When it gets windy than you cool out much faster and you will suffer already around 0.
I live at a river like most cities here and its often rainy and windy. High humidity and wind makes cold horrible.
Like going home at -15 6am after nightshift is actually even with the thickest cloth harsh.

But at dry weather like for example in central Russia you can quite well sustain up to -30 (Chelyabinsk) of course with proper clothing.

Wrong. Here in Swedish Lapland it's often -25 and colder while at the same time being around 90% humidity.

I work outside and drive about 3 hours every day. But I don't live in a city so that's probably why. Traffic actually gets better in winter here.
Everything is better in winter actually if you ask me.
I prefer the colder weather when working, the lack of daylight is preferable to too much daylight in summer = no sleep and we rarely get icy streets even back in town up here in the north. Just a layer of snow everywhere. Probably because we don't salt which melts the snow which then freezes again. Never understood why southern Sweden do that.
Also skiing, snowboarding, ice swimming, sauna, ice fishing and driving my car on the frozen lakes. Literally the best thing in the world.
