>your country
>are you failing your maths exam tomorrow?

ah yes
>your country
>are you failing your maths exam tomorrow?
flag
ah yes
do your best, Pajeet
I just got 100%
Feel pretty good tbqh
I failed math 2 once. Next semester I learned for the exam and got a 1.0 instead.
>tfw also have math exam tomorrow
>not even going to show up to it
I accidentally missed my math final
Still passed the course
Flag
Didn't have any math classes semester, already passed my exams
Me too. Pretty incredible huh. Something in common with on three continents. 9 o'clock? And yes I will fail course of course.
No, I am not a toddler.
Yep, 9 AM. Not showing up to that shit though.
I don't have math this semester and i ususally fail this class yes. But in french uni you just need to have an average of 10/20 grade during the semester to pass every single class you took.
flag
no i already passed that shit ages ago
9 AM indeed lmao
i will show up, maybe i could copy from the kids sitting next to me and pass somehow
no, ive been done with final exams for two weeks
>taking math
just go social sciences
yes because i dropped out of half of my lessons due to illnesses getting the best of me
I have a political science exam and I'm not failing it because I'm gonna work from 5 AM to 1 PM :)
that's based. when's the exam? I too panic and study at the 11th hour
That's bullshit. No way. That's super unfair.
I had a maths exam yesterday and I shredded it, but I have a geography exam tomorrow and I have 3 hours to study the entire course before I sleep
had a math exam today
you guys are gonna make it
Laughed out loud. Good thread
heheheheh
>tfw passed my 2nd year with a amazing 3/20 in maths because my average was 13.8/20
On the other hand if you fail to have at least 10/20 you're fugged and have to waste a year to repass everything you failed
this. based Patel with the laidback attitude
I just got a 59 on my calc final
But got a B for the class anyways, because of the curve
that sounds amazing still what the fuck
I got a 2.0 gpa this semester :(
More like the bell curve
don't tell anyone we must keep it that way
Isn't it the same thing? Sorry not good at math stuff
more like the graphic representation of a normal distribution am i right
Unless you go to Waterloo or UofT your degree is irrelevant dirty leaf
I do, but that's retarded cope
We need ½ correct on every exam for lowest passing grade and usually various assignments to even get exam rights, sometimes gotta do them all, sometimes third of them, varies, and those are graded and need to pass too. Some are legendary nightmare courses where people fail them year after year. My worst was three complete failures in one such until I finally got the fucker done. Yes you are pampered little birds.
Grade inflation must be through the roof because of curving at American unis.
not really, idk about americans but most class averages here in engineering/science tend to be between 60-70
It is. In my calc I class, I had a 27 on the final, but still ended up with a B.
it is, but it is just dependent on the university and the class really. some professors will never curve and some might do some retarded curve. my biggest curve was in a class with a professor from germany that basically gave everyone that passed the three tests and turned in homework an A
that's pretty fucking dumb, here if you get below 50 on the final you fail no matter what
Same, gotta get ½ right on exam at least.
what's everyone's major?
electronics engineering here
The only thing my school is known for is its nursing program, they don't really give a fuck about their math courses and just want students to pass it.
why is every indian and their mother in electric engineering? serious question, software I could understand but why electric engineering?
I had some 1st/2nd year electric engineering courses but am in software, learning the course material for that shit was a pain since on youtube its all indians
Passed my professionalism and ethics course with 59%
How was it that low? Did you just not do the assignments?
based, i am electrical engineering
we don't have lots of fields available when it comes to engineering
it's either comp sci, eng, civil, mech
only some top notch colleges have other obscure fields available
McGill too. Any other degree is worthless for employment outside Canada, but once you have experience it doesn't matter.
Why is Canada like this?
my retarded ass thought elec engineering is all about robots and shit
but i feel scammed and lost interest halfway through the program
Not really a Canada thing but rather a low prestige university thing.
>stats exam coming up
>need 68% to pass
Shieeet.
Not really and I tested out of some finals but I noticed the curves were more extreme when I finished up. Something has shifted at some schools.
yeah, i just chose it because of meme shit too and now i hate circuits and coding. plan on applying to grad programs for lasers and optics shit to get the fuck out of electrical
Lmao, how am I supposed to meet the requirements to apply for a semester abroad in the US if there is no curving here. My math exams were like
In public unis it's in the best interest of the professor to have high passing rates (tenure, and students evaluations). Why would they fail everyone? They would get shitty student evaluations from salty students, and that shit actually matters.
Lmao why the fuck do you want to study here? Unless you want to go to a prestigious school
>exams tomorrow and I haven't studied whatsoever
they look at foreign grades differently I would think
>Lmao why the fuck do you want to study here?
It looks good on the CV, to improve your English skills and as an exchange student you usually keep paying your tuition at your home university while doing an exchange which means I could potentially study a American public flagship college for free since we have no tuition here.
civil engineering
That's probably true. Don't you get a number grade in Germany like 1-10?
Your English looks great. How is your spoken English?
Not really, there are pretty strict conversion tables.
thats basically how it is here as well, I just notice a disproportionate amount of content in electric engineering on youtube by indians
It's basically flipped:
GPA:
Ger - US
1.0 - 4.0
2.0 - 3.0
3.0 - 2.0
4.0 - 1.0
5.0 (fail)
>Your English looks great. How is your spoken English?
Not too shabby. The point is that an exchange semester is pretty much mandatory at this point and one would prefer to spend it in a country where you can get by with your present language skills.
As the other canadian said, if you want a high paying job right out of uni in the states as a canadian, you'll probably want to go to uoft or waterloo. Once you have 2-3 years of work experience, most employers (at least in engineering and comp sci) will not give a single fuck where you went to university.
Can you give me a quick run-down on the set-up of the Canadian higher education system and how it's different from the American one (I know, but this is my reference here.), like are there more private or public schools. Are public schools more independent or run by the province (like the state colleges in the US) etc.
It's not? I've doing my third year and half of it is basics like math, the other half robots and stuff.
Though I had most of the elemental courses done in other university, so it probably affects my feelings.
Electrical engineering master race reporting in.
Are we talking about after highschool?
After highschool students in canada can go to college or university.
College is for more hands on careers. University is the "higher" level one. College is basically for turbo brainlets. Universities are all publicly funded.
I can't go to school tomorrow I have a bad case of bellyache. Sorry math teacher.
>Are we talking about after highschool? Yes.
Yeah, I did fuck all.
show me your belly and i will diagnose you
uhm it's getting better already no need to check it doc hehe
>Cousin in Canada wants to go med school
>Only like 13 med schools in literally all of Canada
>Average matriculate GPA for one of them is like a 3.99 GPA
>mfw
yeah, getting into med school here, at least in ontario is THE definition of a rat race
You can get into an MD program here with like a 3.4 GPA if you have good exam scores, Canada is truly a wacky place when it comes to academia
In Québec too. Every faggots want to get in because it's "prestigious'
fug i shouldve went med school path
It's slightly easier in quebec compared to ontario but still difficult
the US also has DO programs which are basically the same thing if your end goal is family medicine or a lower ranking specialty
To some extent it is prestigious.
Why the fuck don't you guys build mroe med schools
Nice work Hans!
Supposedly there is some kind of residency merger for DO & MD in the works though
Hey guys OP here thanks for Eighty Six (86) replies.
which math class is it? if its anything from first or 2nd year you should be fine
I did poorly in my Calculus class and still got an A.
Curve + being the smartest of a group retards worked out well.
group of*
See, I can’t even type correctly :)
I already have a degree in mathematics
feels good man
but do you have a job
no, I did some tutoring for a bit but I'm a NEET atm
Doctors make insane amounts of money here though so not surprising.
I'm pretty sure even family docs in the US make almost the same money as surgeons in Canada
you're more or less right, canadian doctors often go to work in the states in private
Are you a med school fag? Or do you just happen to know a lot about this stuff
happen to know a lot, friends are in premed
I myself opted out of the rat race that is premed here, chilling in engineering
Ah I see. I'm still in the rat race here in the US but honestly it's not even a comparison. I feel bad for what you leafs have to go through just for a chance at a slot. Even someone with a 3.1 can get into a DO school.
