if you weren't coding/programming by the age of 7, it's hopeless. sorry buddy but you missed the train and won't get that good programming money and pussy. but hey, i heard mcdonalds is hiring
cheers
If you can’t even find the right board to post this thread, you’re screwed.
Jow Forums
I posted this on Jow Forums a while back, they called me a dumb frogposter.
khan academy is a good start

10 year olds modding minecraft will be ahead of you; you will not be able to compete
look up C# tutorials on youtube
pirate a C book and practice until your keyboard breaks down
don't be afraid to ask if you don't get something
stackoverflow, IRCs, Jow Forums whatever, most people will be glad to help
watching youtube or following tutorials on some meme website is a surefire way to end up a turbopajeet
>to program/code
Not inspiring to be a software engineer, but simply wanting to code means you'll only be worth as much as the next pajeet who's probably better at 'coding' than you are.
This is actually true. You guys realize that, right?
If you weren't coding as a kid/young teenager (13-14 at the latest), you'll probably also be shit.

hope you like language wars and pedantry
>they called me a dumb frogposter.
because that's what you are
maybe he just wants to learn for his own purposes and isn't looking to make a career out of it
Probably Python for an absolute beginner to learn basic control flow of imperative languages
Then learn about the operating system and move to C
t. college senior who just got a job as a software engineer
What website/book do you recommend?
Some Italian guy recommended this book a few days back, I'll go with this then.
Install Emacs
Learn LISP
It depends what you want to use programming for. Python is generally seen as the best "entry-level" programming language these days and is used a lot for machine learning and data analysis. C is good if you want to program lower-level stuff like operating systems. Java is what most Computer Science university courses teach and it's used a lot in industry (as well as C#). Javascript and PHP are mainly used in web development.
Although one thing about programming languages is that most of the concepts are transferable. So if you learn how to write a program in one language you should be able to write the same program in another language if you just look up the syntax. While there are differences between programming languages that make them more suitable for different tasks, the most important thing is to actually start learning instead of spending ages trying to pick the "correct" language or course.
Also people who say you need to be a maths wizard or you need to start programming when you're a kid are wrong. Programming isn't particularly difficult, it's just logically breaking down a problem into simple steps and then writing code that will perform those steps in sequence.
You can't pick up new skills past early teenager years and be good at them. Never in history has there been a famous composer who picked up music at 20, or an artist who picked up painting at 20, or a mathematician who sucked at math until he was 20.
if you werent good at maths or suck at logical thinking/problem solving dont waste your time.
buy a book for python or java and follow through with it. Try figure out how and why your mistakes happen. Try and make things that are of use or of potential use to keep yourself interested.
If you didn't start at 18-20 at the very latest, you're never gonna make it
How good are you referring to exactly? I've never been good at math, but I've never had any interest in it either. But after school I've finding myself in love with it, and though I'm still not good, I actually am improving a lot. Do you think in this sense it's still feasible for me to develop a good logic thinking?
YouTube honestly. And download the book by the person that wrote the language
You can enroll in free online courses pretty easily now
why would you ever want to become a programmer incel neet???
pays well
