The man tried to take a shortcut from Vaasa city to the Black Isle which is connected to Vaasa by an bridge. But the man decided to walk over frozen sea.
He was merely 3 meters away from the beach.
The water is cold and dark, he probably got instantly into a shock and couldnt get himself out of the water.
He was found dead by the fire department who came to his rescue when some eye witness called them.
I can understand. When I was at the beach my first time, I thought it would be badass to rent a paddle board. So I did it even though I had never really swam in the ocean before.
Once i hit some waves I got knocked off, and the moment I couldn't feel anything beneath my feet I freaked out, since I had never been away from shallow water all my life. I went into shock and almost drowned until I looked over to my girlfriend and she was just sitting there effortlessly. I almost yelled at her for help but 2 seconds later she said "aw it's not so deep here" and indeed i could stand, it's just before that I was bending my knees. Holy fuck I never wanted to be in the water ever again and if I was alone I would've for sure drowned in water that was only at my neck level like a fucking idiot. Thank god my girlfriend was there.
