The city of Spokane is where all of the poor people live, the rich and middle class migrated east and founded Spokane Valley, where it's 99.9% suburbs. City of Spokane is basically detroit and then Spokane Valley and the other surrounding areas are where all of the wealth is concentrated. As a whole, the region isn't very poor, just very segregated. The middle class is very large and strong.

Born and raised, it's not the worst small rural town out on the peninsula but there are quite a few dope addicts, but i think that's just an ubiquitous thing out here in WA. it's kind of insular but not the worst place to live if you don't mind hicks, gossiping old biddies and everyone knowing who you are.
