Thailand survived for centuries by switching teams when it was convenient and it always worked out better for us. When the rest of Asia was ashes after WW2, Thailand thrived, first by siding with the Japs against the Allies, then siding with the Americans against the Japs.
Every country should do what's best for its people while pissing off as few others as possible.

Macron is just upset that trump won't bomb more Syrians anymore. That there won't be more Syrian refugees which means he can't use it to browbeat is opponents with muh humanism. All jokes aside, I'm glad he retreats. The whole middle east shebang was something the US never should have entered.
Maybe Macron should stop being a neoliberal shill partaking in imperialist wars and start following the example of Trump. It is no coincidence that the yellow vests chanted 'we want trump'. MAGA thank you Donald Trump.

Nah, the rabbit hole goes deeper than you think, these globalists dont care if all out nuculear WW3 breaks out, heck, they want it to happen, they'll tuck away in their deep underground bunkers and wait out as the world gets depopulated (which is one of their main goals too)...but taking North Koreas example, in which case the Norks are pointing their rockets at all those multi billion dollar invested satellites orbiting the world. Threatening to set back the global telecommunication net and making a one world government literally impossible.
There's a big game happening under our noses and the media is dead silent about it.
I understand you have fared poorly since losing to us in WW2 and Vietnam in the 50s, but you cannot keep being a sore loser and blaming us for your problems.
Sooner or later you must take responsibility for your own failures.
Because having a terrorist organisation control a de facto state leads to a rise in terrorist attacks in the west, as shown by the explosion of attacks on since 2012 in europe .
It makes Djihadism looks like a realistic plan to muslims because they're fighting for an actual country with an actual leader and a clear goal, not some afghans living in caves

Do Thai people seriously feel proud to have beaten the French after 1940? Remember how it ended? Invaded by Japan in 5 hours.
I only compare because that poster is french, you sound like the one suffering from feelings of insecurity and inferiority. Especially in the face of a Kingdom as eternal as the SukhoThai.
Thank you. You understand the value of strong nationhood values. Your endurance will be of granite while the pillars of the Fifth Republic crumble to dust.
That doesn't lead to terrorism. Importing people from the same areas that we're bombing in, is what leads to terrorism. Besides, fighting a de facto state is easier than fighting terrorism.
Kevin Lopez
I'm afraid you have your history confused Derek. We clashed with Japan and allied with them first. Then we defeated France singlehandedly until Japan stepped in to mediate and save France from further embarrassment.
Why are you lying? Thailand invaded French Indochina as soon as 1940, just when France had been defeated by Germany. They also defeated your country in a naval battle, which is pretty shameful. Japan invaded after Pearl Harbor, in december 1941.
Brody Peterson
So you defeated a country that was being occupied by a foreign power, whose whole army was split in two, whose two armies were fighting each others on dozens of battleground around the world. And you did that while being on the opposite side of the world from said country.
Yes, and now we are better off than ever. Meanwhile...

>dependable as in not make a sudden decisions to withdraw from cunts where there still are ISIS presence maybe?
But ISIS is effectively dismantled, they've lost all major strongholds including their de facto capital, lost all meaningful territory and as of December 2017, controlled only 2% of its previous territory it once held.
It's already too late to fight against the original targets, the Assad government, without investing in a full proxy war against Russia. Even in the chance they win, the US has learnt from it's previous experiences in nation building. Fool me twice.
There's no reason to stick around in Syria. If France thinks otherwise, then they can send in more than 2,300 soldiers.

>But ISIS is effectively dismantled
It is not about ISIS. The USA has no strategic reason to spend trillions dollars on their presence in the Middle East in situation of the shale revolution, when they already became the biggest oil producer in the world :
Middle East is a geopolitical bolt which is more important for situation and stability in Europe, Russia and China, not in the USA. If the USA leaves all most important places in the Middle East like Afghanistan or Iraq f.e., the mess it is going to create will have to be put to order by countries that could be directly hurt by it, which is mainly Russia and Europe. So now these two entities will have to spend more money on military presence in this region, not the USA anymore. The USA will have a chance to focus on internal rebuilding of its military and economy instead.

Every single dollar the USA invests in the Middle East should be going to American weapon industry instead. American navy is in shambles. American land army practically doesn't exist. American public schools are not remotely jingoistic when it comes to talking about Vietnam. They actually recite the media’s take on the war and paint the US as evil imperialists gunning down poor Vietnamese children and leave it at that. I actually didn’t learn about the more complex subtleties of the US’s reason for involvement until I did research in my own time.
It’s a fact that the US was pro-independence during WW2, and Ho Chi Minh initially wanted to seek support for independence from America instead of the Soviets. However, when Germany was partitioned, both the Soviets and the US/UK wanted to entice France to combine their chunk of German territory with theirs, and in order to keep France in the Allies sphere, the US had to drop their support for a free indochina. This pushed Vietnam to align with the Soviets instead as a means to gain freedom, and while the US wasn’t opposed to Vietnamese independence, it was opposed to the spread of communism, so they inevitably gone drawn in to a war to keep the South from falling to the Communist North.
So yes, it every sense of the statement, France is the one mainly responsible for the Vietnam war.
Gavin Phillips
So you are saying that America is a retard who bumbled into decade+ long conflict by accident or because gosh darnit, americans are too kind to say no to the french. >Americans are too kind to say no to the french
I explicitly said it wasn’t an act of kindness, it was a geopolitical priority to keep France from aligning with Stalin. The irony is, France would later just realize keeping Indochina under their imperial thumb was more trouble than it’s worth, but not before needlessly causing Vietnam to pursue ties with the Soviets and becoming a problem for America all so they could briefly hold on to a territory that they’d eventually not even want anymore.
The US relinquished all its former imperial holdings like the Phillipines immediately after WW2 to draw clear contrast between their global philosophy and the Soviets, and wanted France to do the same. Had they listened to us, there never would have been a Vietnam War, and everyone would have been better off.
