She thought it would cleanse her body. SOMEONE IN INTERNET had claimed soy sauce will cleanse the intestines.
Internet recommendations were to drink 1 liter of soy sauce within 2 hours.
1 liter of soy sauce will contain about 66 grams of salt. That's 10 times the maximum salt intake for an person in a day. Especially if she is a small sized woman. The amounts may differ for a bodybuilder man weighing 150 kg.
The woman did not drank plain unsalted water at all in the same day. Therefore her salt concentration in blood became dangerously high.
PERMANENT BRAIN DAMAGE.
Woman went into coma. Somebody took her to hospital. When she woke up 2 days later, it was told that her brains are damaged beyond repair because of too high sodium content. It caused myelinosis of brain regions responsible for movement.
She is now paralyzed. Yet her high brain functions are working ok and she can think and feel pain.
It isn't certain whether or not this woman even exists. The only source for all this is an American doctor called Bernard and his YouTube video. According to Dr. Bernard, the woman also had anti-government sentiments.

Actually she had schizophrenia-like symptoms that were caused by celiac disease (intolerance to gluten) The whole tragedy could have been avoided if American doctors diagnosed her properly in the first place.
