By posting this same question every time >Will I learn a language by using Duolingo five minutes a day while taking a shit Most definitely >Should I learn X to get a qt wife/gf (male) etc? Yes, it will guarantee the acquisition and retention of a qt >Should I learn multiple languages at the same time? Learn 3 or more at once to be efficient >Should I learn lang Y so I can learn lang X? > Hart: Ich werde gleich ohne euch los ?????? > Lolle: Warum passiert jetzt nicht???? > Hart: Die Kleine braucht halt immer ein bisschen, bis sie warm wird. > Lolle: Wie kann es sein, dass es dauert den so lange? > Hart: Jetzt warte, halt noch ein bißchen. Ist ja gleich so weit.
> Paul: Die sind Freunde. > Rosalie: Ja, geil! > Lolle: Ich rufe mal Sven an. > Es ist nicht so einfach von einem Tag auf den anderen ohne was zu sagen. (?????)
Ryan Young
I *really* hate those soaps
Isaiah Lewis
Agreed, I don't think I can take anymore of Lolle freaking out for for reason, or Rosalie's mumblings, or Sven's muh divorce, or Hart's """humor"""
I'm going to translate Dittsche next, what do you think of that?
Dylan Torres
I have never heard of that show, but I think it is probably terrible German TV shows are usually shit plus >German humor If you want to watch a show popular amongst normies you should watch "Der Tatortreiniger" (apparently popular with boomers), or "Stromberg" (German The Office) For a non-comedy show, why not try Dark or whatever it's called, apparently a German Netflix show
In NSW we learned a little German, I'll be honest I wish I paid attention in class, but in my defense basically all we ever did was watch Inspector Rex. It was so boring.
Jackson Sanchez
>all we ever did was watch Inspector Rex. >It was so boring. ???
Brayden Flores
In reality English is the odd one out and it fucks with everyone else
Zachary Baker
When a kid wants to build things or do anything tactile and you force him to sit down watching something they give zero fucks about and they'll get bored real quick.
Jonathan Harris
I can understand you there, English is basically a creole language between Romance/Germanic languages anyway. It barely counts as a "Germanic" language. Just barely.
It's harder for both sides to learn because of that.
>English is basically a creole brainlet detected. Creoles only arise when a pidgin becomes a native lang of next gen. And were english a creole there would be basically no germanic vocab, but a strongly germanic structure
Brandon Ortiz
That's why we have to reset English to Eald Englisc and develop it anew from there
Adam Watson
So you're advocating for English to be reformed into Anglish?
Then what would you classify English as? It's barely even really "Germanic" anymore.
Levi Howard
>Anglish Nah that's just LARPing, we need to go further than that. Old English isn't just Modern English with other words, you know?
Matthew Gutierrez
I suppose there is a lot of different factors for these type of things rather than it just being "The words have changed lul"
It (obviously) ended up being far more complex than that, with alot of different influences. Are you saying we should reset and remove those "influences"?
Adrian Long
Wew that's a rare flag, right ?
Ian Morales
Yea we should remove (((influences))) I'd say Old English is a bit more complex than Modern English, so what's the loss, really?
>Hong Kong posters have their own flag, same with Macau. Huh... So Jow Forums isn't blocked in their firewall?
Xavier Campbell
From what i know, China doesn't enforce too much restrictions on Hong Kong & Macau. I think the internet is pretty "open" there atleast until 2049. (When China annexes them due to the handover contract)
I think it's to make sure Hong Kong & Macau remain tourist-friendly and to make sure the native people there don't get too angry with the Chinese government... Otherwise Tiananmen square 1989 might occur again or some shit
John Wilson

PLEASE: I need advice for learning russian as a retarded monolingual aussie. How the fuck do I start and how the fuck do I stay motivated?
Caleb Morris
As a Russian i will say. Why you learning Russian?
James Thomas
RT has a course >How do i stay motivated Watch shows/movies, read books or listen to music/audiobooks in Russian.
In this priority.
Jacob Rivera
Why are the greeks trying to claim famous Balts as their own?
Ayden Young
>How the fuck do I start and how the fuck do I stay motivated? I don't know, dude. I learning English and i stay motivated because English opens up a lot of content. Visual novels, films, travels, works, communication and more. Maybe, can you be motivated by that.
Jack Ramirez

Jow Forums is not influential enough to be blocked. The blocking of Google Recaptcha is the reason why you don't see Chinese flags often, unless they paid for the Jow Forums Pass.
Chase Campbell

Пoчeмy кcтaти I am, a нe i пpocтo?
John Nelson
Easy >I am drinking tea. >It is morning. >We bought food. >He went to the office.
Medium >We drank champagne until midnight. >The spider is on the wall, please kill it. >There's nothing interesting in this book store. >I can't spend the night at your place, sorry.
Hard >The bus driver was cranky and purposely delayed our trip by an hour. >He falsified his academic credentials to apply for a teaching job, but was found out and denied. >It's hard to understand what the professor says because he mumbles. >I bought two books for you for Christmas because I was unsure which one you would find interesting.
Ethan Adams
Because anglos don't conjugate words. я yчy - I am learning я yчил - I was learning In normal languages you change the ending of the verb, in English you change some other word.
Angel Lopez
Fuck, I forgot to turn off the shadowsocks.
Chase Wright
Paзвe i am - я ecть, нe я в cмыcлe "ктo я?". Bpoдe жe в пpeдлoжeнии oбязaтeльнo дoлжeн быть глaгoл и, ecли тaкoвoгo нeт, мы cтaвим вcпoмoгaтeльныe (нy кaк paз вcякиe am, is, are). Paзвe мы мoжeм их coвмeщaть и бyдeт ли этo пpaвильнo?
Liam Bell
I don't think I understand what you mean.
There are two instances when you don't need "be" (am, is, was, will, etc.) In action that has ended long ago: I learned (English as a child) Or when stating facts: I learn (very fast)
In your case the action is continuous. You need some variation of "be" (am, is, was, etc.) in all continuous actions, no matter, if they are ongoing or if they were ongoing up until the present point.
Caleb Allen
Then all of English sentences except >In action that has ended long ago: >when stating facts: need "be"?
Justin Murphy
Always Use your native tongue to learn a foreign language mi negro

>Creoles only arise when a pidgin becomes a native lang of next gen.
Exactly what happened to the next gen of anglosaxons in england
>And were english a creole there would be basically no germanic vocab, but a strongly germanic structure
That's completely untrue creolization isnt an all or nothing process.
>but a strong germanic structure
No creole languages become simplified over time and their grammar changes as well
Bentley Perry
For past and present, yes.
Jayden James
Also besides a handful of cognates with German , English is so creolized it will hardly help you learn german since it's hardly a germanic lang as already disucssed
Isaiah Rogers
For future?
David Rivera
Basically the same principle. You need it for continuous actions I will be watching I will be driving You don't need it for instantaneous actions I will see I will arrive
Aiden Hughes

Charles Jones
that is easy. may I introduce you to the beauty of OLD ENGLISH?
Tyler Wood
Is there much Old English literature other than Beowulf? I'm honestly split between French, Italian and Russian. Reading my favourite books in the original language is my main reason for wanting to learn a second language.
Jaxon Reed
>reading books Italian got you senpai, so much literature
