polacks who live in Poland and work in Germany have the best life
Eastern Germany is almost empty buddy.
>What happens at the Lithuania-Poland border? How do people make use of a different wealth level between the countries?
The contrast between Lithuania and Poland is not that big.
Germans move away, Poles come to work.
The smart Poles move to Western Germany, too
This. No one lives in Eastern Germany except for Berlin, the surrounding area and some cities to the south of it.
It's surprisingly boring nowadays, when the borders are open and you can cross it in a random place. It used to be more lifeful before the EU/Schengen, when smuggling was a real thing, so was the difference in prices (now it's negligible).
The biggest difference is in infrastructure and maintenance, German border town are obviously in perfect condition and since very few people life there they look kinda like small Disneylands, while the towns on the Polish side are more neglected and uglier overall.
Germany on the left, Poland on the right
German farmers loose their equipment to thieves and go broke.
If these are polish or just other kinds of easteners that happen to cross their border I dont know.
Around Stettin the land is empty and gets colonised by poles, returning it to the times of the 9th century.
Lusitanians might be more active in their relations with poles. But border-germans arent very rich while western poles arent very poor so the difference isnt as crass as you imagine.
>tfw ywn in a city that is within walking distance from Germany
It doesn't look that bad, other than blocking the view, but it must be a little annoying to see the perfect German town every day.
both Polish and German border towns are depopulating though.
>It doesn't look that bad
That's a tourist site and the old town, you haven't seen commieblock neighborhoods yet:
>but it must be a little annoying to see the perfect German town every day.
Polish minds can't comprehend real beauty, Polish urban planning is the ugliest and most messy in the world and Poles don't care about aesthetics that much. If there's anything they are jealous of it's that on the German side you make 1800 eur in Lidl while on the Polish side it's 600-700 eur.
actually the difference between Poland and Ukraine is bigger than between Poland and Germany
>all these gray commieblocks
Wtf, even in Poland Z they were renovated years ago.
Westerners are truly niggers of Poland.
>Polish urban planning is the ugliest and most messy in the world
LOL no, Poland looks good for a former socialist country. Russia, for example, is much worse.
Trust me on this one Polish Urban planning is really not that terrible. You should see the shit that is allowed here in Leafistan and Burgerland. I will say that Polish sense of Architecture and Style has hit a rock bottom. The way so homes are built and decorated these days... ugh. I realize there is a Polish style of bright colors and things but you guys really need to fucking rein in the stucco meme. Also do people not play real instruments anymore? I swear the every song is electronic/synth meme is not good either.
Its east germany why renovate a building thats almost abandoned?
Just found this. Poland is not so bad. Stop pretending you live in a third world country. It's a second world country at worst.
Poland is a 1st world country because it's part of NATO.
post commie and 1st world are self-contradictory terms
It's not just about money
>LOL no, Poland looks good for a former socialist country. Russia, for example, is much worse.
at least in Russia they can build their houses around a grid street plan, in Poland it's one big mess, everyone builds his house wherever he wants and then the town thinks how to build a curvy road to connect these houses to each other
> The way so homes are built and decorated these days... ugh.
gypsy-tier ornaments and bright colors are just a slavic trait, it's the same in Czechia, Russia or Bulgaria and that's why we're different from Germanics
but our urban planning is just a mess
people still live there though
there are few suburbs like that though, most of them are much worse
you just need to cross this bridge to enter Germany from Poland
Mexicans must be envious af now
Lithuania is richer than pooland.
>difference between Poland and Germany is 1,74x
>difference between Poland and Ukraine is 3,37x
Ukraine is at war with Russia my dude.
Poland is at war against the EU
t. Ruskie
the EU wants to impose sanctions against us
A lot of Poles live in Germany and go to work to Poland every day. House rents are often cheaper in Eastern Germany. Salaries are better in Germany of course (even in the east) but it's easier to find good job in Western Poland. The border is less and less visible. We even have mixed gernan/polish police patrols.
i wonder why the US can't take the same approach Germany has towards Poland
in what way?
they could open their borders for Mexicans like Germans did for Poles
When we were teenagers we used to lay trails of euro coins that lead to a fall trap and than sell the pole on the black market to russian mobsters
qt
no one says we're third world
but the country is still far behind the west
Read again
ossis have left for the west and poles all come to germany but demand more german land, they will never stop demanding german land until germany consists if a single city where all the polish people live in one giant commieblock working as plumbers while the countryside surrounding it is an empty deserted wasteland owned by the polish state. then they'll be happy about their historic success for 5 minutes before demanding more land in the rest of europe as it was clearly settled by poles during the time of the babylonians as proven by a wikipedia article written by someone named koslowski and anyway the germans and russians and jews need to pay up for the holocaust.
tl;dr
pay reparations
B&R, I approve this post.
GDP says nothing on living costs. Finland and Sweden have same cost with groceries whereas Norway is 10x.
>whereas Norway is 10x.
exaggeration
Yup, GDP or PPP are just economic indicators that say nothing about the overall quality of life. To me, it seems that Poland has a better infrastructure than Lithuania.
Why the polackoids provide a stead supply of cheap cigarettes and whores for their germanic superios of course
This man speaks the truth
a lot of buisnesses on the polish side are focused on germans going there for cheap or illegal stuff
There are more unrenovated houses than on the german side, but it's not that much of a difference
Theft used to be big a problem, It's not that bad anymore but it's still a relevant topic
>What happens at the Germany-Poland border?
Poles living their peaceful lives and protecting their property from nazis from the west.
>How do people make use of a different wealth level between the countries?
We use poor Germans as slaves to push our wooden ploughs on fields.
...what did I just read.
I used to live in Zgorzelec/Görlitz
It was inposible to live through a day without hearing German language.
German elders were everywhere.
Görlitz reporting in
DAS RITE
this
Ossi here
Every night we have to lock all windows to not get robbed by poles
Same here
We still make use of it. Lithuanians go to Polish border towns and buy groceries in bulk, because somehow it's cheaper there. Even medicine.
>because somehow it's cheaper there.
Yes, it's real mystery why is that.
Some stuff did get more expensive, but the boom of Lithuanian shoppers there was a couple of years before 2015.
And that's a good thing
>The contrast between Lithuania and Poland is not that big.
it kinda is
lithuanians live in small, mostly wooden houses
poles live in big brick houses
but it might be more cultural than economic difference
>hallo herr Helmut, do you want eine cheap zigarette? no? so maybe pizza? only 40 zloty so 25 oiro, der spezialen offeren fur Sie
>those cigs prices
lmao wtf
stupid germans
i wonder how much they cost in Germany then if it still makes sense to buy them for such prices, 2 times higher than in normal shops in Poland
Uh oh, I'm getting Bratislava from Eurotrip vibes here.
I've actually been to Bratislava, the old town is fabulous.
Those are some weird brands too, never heard of Davidoff or Cabinet
wtf I'd never buy cigs for over 20 zl in Poland
i talked with a polish guy who lived in a town near the german border
he told me that basically many poles find jobs in germany not far from the border and work there, driving back to poland after work
it's quite common, same thing occurs on dutch-german border
